Fall League Notes Week Three
Week 3 of the HoopSeen Fall League delivered more competition. Another week, another group of players making their case:
Flowery Branch vs Wesleyan
2026 Jack Huey played two games for Flowery Branch due to another team dropping out at the last second. Did not phase him as he made multiple threes, shots off the dribble, and floaters over the course of those two games while being a key contributor on defense and finding the open man on offense. Flowery Branch won both games as Huey was an integral part of their success.
Rite Academy vs CP360
2026 Mekhi Barber is a true multi-tool defender at 6’4 who plays relentlessly on both ends of the floor. Barber was able to put pressure on the defense by touching the paint consistently, while using his strength to his advantage when finishing with physicality. Defensively, he filled up the stat sheet, and commonly guarded the opposing team’s best player. Barber is a guy I am excited to keep track of in the near future.
Cherokee Bluff vs Franklin County
2028 Hudson Huff was the lone bright spot for Franklin County last night as he converted on EIGHT three-point field goals in a loss to Cherokee Bluff. Plays with incredible pace and confidence at his size. Operating as the main ball-handler for Franklin, Huff was able to utilize his craft and play off two feet well. Huff kept his defenders off-balance while consistently getting open off-ball and hitting open shots. Hit a few jumpers off-the-dribble and you can tell it is something he has been working on.
Grayson vs The Walker School
2027 MJ Curry is a long athletic wing who moves very well laterally on the defensive side of the ball, and is active on both the offensive and defensive glass. He guarded their best player, hit jumpers from his various spots, and played above the rim effectively. An elite athlete at 6’5, Curry finished with two highlight-reel dunks on their way to a win against The Walker School. Defense is his calling card but I am very excited to track his offensive progress in the coming months.
At 6’3, 2026 Devan Fernande is a savvy point guard who makes the right reads consistently while knocking down deep threes and shots off the dribble. Fernande is an active defender and has good hustle in transition. While the Walker School did not come away with the win tonight, Fernande kept his team in it with heady plays and high-feel while running the offense for TWS. Sneaky guard to keep an eye on.
