2025 All-HoopSeen Association Second Team
The 2025 HoopSeen travel season is officially in the books and, as usual, the depth of talent was fun and impressive. Our staff debated, deliberated and now delivers our Second Team All-HSA for the season. These five players came through in a big way for their respective team and program and stand at the top as some of the best players in independent travel basketball.
Isiah Ring, D13 Elite - Ring missed some weekends with D13 Elite but when he was there, he was a dynamic scorer. He is an athletically built guard that has a quick-first step and thrives at attacking the rim. He can get by defenders going straight to the rim or knocking down a pull-up. He plays with toughness and is one of those old school playing guards that loves to compete, where they are few and far between. I think Ring is getting some Division II interest and offers at this point and he could be a guy that could make the jump with a solid showing in his freshman season. - Justin Byerly
Tripp Mason, Pro One Academic - Probably the best shooter I saw all travel season. Mason has an ability to make shots from all over the floor but if he can get hot from outside of the three-point line, he will make you pay, and pay and pay.
Mason is an Alabama kid and our guy Garrett Tucker wrote this after our Best of the South,”If you’re looking for a group of players that helped themselves on the recruitment front this weekend, you have to start with Mason. The 6-foot-1 sharpshooter lit up the nets inside the Georgia International Convention Center from start to finish at Best of the South. Let these numbers sink in — Game 1: 25 points on six three-pointers. Game 2: 32 points on six three-pointers. Game 3: 28 points on five three-pointers. That was the theme from the weekend for Mason. He made big shots and showed his gritty play, and I expect more and more college programs to start keeping tabs on him.” - Garrett Tucker
Derrick Roberson, Tennessee Tigers - This dude has been one of my favorite prospects over this past travel season. He can be put in at so many different positions and he can thrive in any of them. The Atlanta native always showed out when he came to our events and he is a fun player to watch. Roberson and HoopSeen Association Player of the Year, Cutter Sisk were the reason that the Tigers had such a strong travel season. Take either one away and it's not the same team. Roberson is hard to guard when he gets hot from outside because once the defense starts to come out, he can go right to the rim and finish with contact. I think college coaches have yet to see what all he can bring to the floor. He is a legitimate Division I player at some point in his career. He might need to go to a smaller school at first but the talent is there. - Justin Byerly
Aden Jeffries, Durham Hurricanes - The new kid on the block in Durham. Aden Jeffries, straight from St.Louis, Missouri made quite the impression on our HoopSeen staff with his Durham Hurricanes squad throughout the travel season. The guy has length, has shooting ability from the outside and can play at the rim. There are a lot of tools that Jeffries has that can translate to the next level. He was named a Top Performer after several events during our season. A coach’s son, Jeffries has a good feel for the game and I think he is going to be a name we keep hearing once the high school season starts. - Justin Byerly
Keandre Yancey, Pro One Select Tucker - Yancey was a standout on our HoopSeen stage this travel season. The 6-foot-4 big built forward is a dominant force in the paint for Pro One Select as an undersized four-man. He has a strong upper-body and a great skillset in the post. I think some Division II schools in the Southeast should take a look if they are looking for a guy to get baskets in the paint. The Albertville (AL) High School prospect should be one of the top players in Alabama this upcoming high school season and should be on college radars. - Justin Byerly
