2026 Grassroots Showcase : 17U Top Performers
Louisville, KY - The Grassroots Showcase held at The Kentucky Expo Center was filled with independent teams and shoe-sponsored programs throughout the weekend. The annual event we partner with Ohio Basketball was another success. The teams came to play and we took it all in. Here is a look at part two of Top Performers from the 17-and-under division.
17U Top Performers
Ayden Glenn, Tennessee Tigers - A familiar name for our HoopSeen stage, Glenn was a bright-spot for one of Tennessee's top independent programs. The 6-foot-2 guard has one of the quickest first-steps we saw throughout the weekend and he used it to perfection during each game we saw.
He was able to get by defenders and get straight to the rim where he would either finish or spend some time at the free-throw line. The southpaw showed he can consistently make three-pointers while being defended or the spot-up.
With the way recruitment of high school prospects has changed, I can see Glenn being a guy that Division II schools should take note of and get involved with. - Justin Byerly
Jack Logsdon, Kentucky Basketball Club - The Western Kentucky commitment was one of the best players we watched here at The Kentucky Expo Center over the weekend. He has a high basketball IQ and he has size at 6-foot-6.
The thing that stood out the most with Logsdon was that he didn't make mistakes. He makes the right pass, makes the right read and is always under-control. He was a legitimate threat to score every time he touched the ball. Whether it was his shooting, his drives to the basket or his passing ability, chances are when he had the ball, something good was going to happen.
WKU Head Coach Hank Plona has himself a prospect that should be able to come in and get some minutes after the half-way point of his college career. - Justin Byerly
Caleb Ervin, Ohio Saints - My first viewing of Ervin was on Saturday and he garnered another look on Sunday. He looks like a Division I football prospect when you first see him and he plays with physicality and a not-backing-down mentality when out on the floor.
He can handle contact when he is driving to the basket or when he is getting into position for a rebound. The 6-foot-2 prospect is able to make shots from the outside and mid-range while he is best at taking the ball from the perimeter to the paint and making an acrobatic lay-in or get to the charity stripe.
The same as with Glenn, mentioned above, his recruitment will end up at the Division II level right now. - Justin Byerly
Tyler Blouin, Hoop Athens - The 6-foot-2 guard averaged right at 17 points per game at our Grassroots Showcase throughout the weekend. He is a problem when he catches the ball behind the three-point line and made a lot of them over the weekend.
Blouin is also a threat to knock down the mid-range jumper and get a few baskets on drives to the basket. The North Oconee (GA) standout was a big reason that Hoop Athens finished out the weekend with a 2-2 record. - Justin Byerly
Geronimo Holmes, Norcross Heat - Every week, this Norcross Heat program has a different guy that stepped up during the event. This weekend at Grassroots Showcase, it was Holmes. The 6-foot-3 speedy guard used his physicality and upper-body strength to score baskets in the paint and knocked down shots from the outside.
Holmes is also a good positional rebounder that led to some fast-break opportunities for Norcross. The 2026 unsigned senior prospect should find himself with some junior college offers over the next few months. - Justin Byerly
