2025 Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champion 15U: Top Overall Performers

SUWANEE, GA - The Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions is one of the most storied, prestigious platforms in the travel basketball world. Shoe-sponsored teams and independents meet and battle through the weekend until champs are crowned.

Along the way, the best players separate themselves. The known add to their resume while under-the-radar names emerge on the big stage. To stand out, to be a top guy is different at Gibbons.

We have so much to get into from the weekend, and it all starts with part I1 of the top overall performers from the 15U division.

Joshua Huggins, Team Thad EYBL 2028 - There was no match for Joshua Huggins at Gibbons this past weekend. Standing at 6’6 with a big frame, Huggins gets downhill like a controlled freight train. He averaged over 20 points, made next-level passes, and crashed the glass like he had no help on the boards. His skill, size, strength, and intensity show why he already holds Division I offers, and I expect schools across the Southeast to be all over Huggins in the next couple of years. - Mekhi Mckinney

Kaiden Smith, Team Work 2028 - Kaiden Smith helped lead Team Work to a 4-2 record and a spot in the Gibbons championship game. His presence was felt all weekend. The big man showcased his soft touch, rebounded well, and protected the rim by contesting everything near him for Team Work 2028. He posted a 17-point double-double in the semifinal game, completely dominating from start to finish. Smith’s future is promising, and I’m excited to watch his development moving forward. - Mekhi McKinney

Braylon Williams, Team Thad 2028 - Team Thad EYBL 2028 took home the 15U championship here at Gibbons, and Williams was a big reason why. The 2028 guard received an offer from Memphis earlier this year, and after watching him manage the game, it’s easy to see why. Williams’ ability to set the table and score effortlessly is exactly why he’ll be a heavily recruited prospect. - Mekhi Mckinney

Bobby Montgomery, Top Shot 2028 - Top Shot came to Gibbons with a ton of talent across all age groups, and Bobby Montgomery kept that trend going for the 15U team. He showed he can score with the best of them, displaying impressive efficiency without shying away from tough shots. Montgomery scored off the bounce with confidence and explosiveness, putting up multiple 20-point performances throughout the weekend. - Mekhi Mckinney

Xavier Barber, Norcross Heat 2028 - Xavier Barber has been one of my favorite players to watch so far this spring in HSA. He continued his strong play this weekend at Gibbons. Barber makes plays that make you say “wow” — whether it’s his acrobatic finishes, flashy passes, or knocking down tough shots with a defender draped all over him. - Mekhi Mckinney
