2023 Best of the South: 17U Standouts IV
ATLANTA, Ga.—Our notebooks still have plenty left on their pages as we empty them out from four days of Best of the South. With that, means more of the standout performers from the weekend.

Hubbard checks a ton of boxes when it comes to being a quality college basketball prospect. The 6-foot-6 guard/wing has a strong frame and has a no-nonsense style approach when he steps out on the floor. Hubbard, a rising senior from the DMV, understands his role and doesn’t divert from what makes him good. He shot the ball at an efficient clip this weekend, but I really liked how natural he was with the ball in his hands and how he never was sped up or deterred by opposing defenses. It’s easy to see why college programs are tracking Hubbard closely. - Garrett Tucker
Kyler Lamb had a weekend that we typically equate with players leveling up. Every time someone on the HoopSeen staff watched SCE, they walked away talking about Lamb. I got to catch them on Sunday, and Lamb was outstanding. He’s a wing with legitimate 6-foot-6 size. He can be used on the perimeter as a shooter and playmaker or he can play around the basket as a small ball PF. I saw a 22-point game from Lamb that included three 3-pointers. In that one, Lamb showed his ability as a slasher as well. He’s got some D2 recruitment, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see some D1s jump in on him. - Josh Tec
When connecting college coaches to teams at Best of the South, “God 1st has good guards” was uttered multiple times, and those guards made us look smart. One of the guys that kept delivering was Nate Boakye. He’s athletic and plays with energy. Boakye was successful in taking his man off the bounce and getting to the rim. - Josh Tec
I caught Bradley in June with his high school program and came away impressed. In a couple of follow-up viewings during BOTS, the rising senior didn’t disappoint, either. A 6-foot-3 combo guard, Bradley had no issues getting to his spots on the floor. One of the best things he does is make tough shots. The lefty made some heavily contested shots during game play that raised some eyebrows. Bradley also kept opposing defenses on its toes with his constant foot on the gas approach. He’s a nice sleeper guard to know as the summer comes to a conclusion. - Garrett Tucker
It was another quality weekend at the office for Duskin, who has consistently been a top performer at HoopSeen events this season. The 6-foot-4 guard is an impact player on both ends of the floor with his blue-collar attitude and competitive style. Duskin showed his ability as a capable three-level scorer and versatile defender. He wrapped up the weekend with a 27-point performance on Sunday afternoon, where he mixed things up by making shots from the perimeter and slashing through the defense and scoring in the paint. Overall, he was a solid piece that helped Pro One Select win three games at BOTS. - Garrett Tucker
Wilbanks is quickly becoming one of the hotter prospects from North Georgia. The 6-foot-6 wing stacked 20-point games with Hoop Atlanta. Athletic, tough, Wilbanks used that combination to his advantage at the rim. Wilbanks is an efficient scorer and showcased that all weekend. He’s a rising senior deserving of some offers. - Josh Tec
Basketball legacies are plentiful in the grassroots basketball world, and Stephen Jackson has been making plenty of noise with Norcross Heat this year. After not playing during the high school season, Jackson has reminded everyone that he’s one of Georgia’s better rising seniors. He’s a talented scorer who can get it done consistently from multiple levels. His length, bloodlines and aptitude for putting the ball in the basket make him an intriguing prospect. - Josh Tec
