Firestorm sweeps the weekend to claim the 17U title at the Cactus Classic

MESA, AZ - After cruising through the weekend, Firestorm brought home the 17 and under championship at the Cactus Classif on Sunday afternoon at Bell Bank Park in an 82-61 win over Legion of Hoops.

The backcourt 1-2 punch of Andrew Camacho and Tru Washington was just too much for the field all weekend long. The duo combined for 45 points in the title game. Camacho scored 24 points and Washington scored 21. They also combined for seven three-pointers.

KJ Perry scored 19 points in the title game, finishing the weekend with a bang.

All three guards have done a fine job of elevating their profiles this spring and made their case for a deep summer evaluation by recruiters.

For Legion, Andy Mora led the way with 23 points. He led the team in scoring on the weekend, posting 12.3 points a contest. Caleb Mitchell and Dmarian Anderson each scored 10 in the title game.
