Cactus Classic: Underclassmen shine on Saturday, part III

MESA, AZ - The youth movement was on full display on Saturday at the Cactus Classic. Who were some of the standouts in match-up and bracket play? We continue our dive into the 2024 and 2025 classes.

Andrew Bhesania, Uptempo Hoops- The class of 2025 forward has some real upside to his game.  He has the length and size you want to see out of a young prospect at about 6’5” and still in his freshman year.  He is that prototypical stretch 4 that forces opposing bigs to follow him out to the perimeter or he will make them pay.  He is a pretty good rebounder but could really benefit by some bulk to his frame and a little Dennis Rodman in his mentality.

Luke Danielson, Uptempo Hoops- The class of 2025 wing really impressed today in both of his teams blowout victories.  Danielson has good size and some real skills from the perimeter.  He is crafty with the ball in his hands and has some sneaky athleticism.  He really impressed me with his decision making and aggressiveness with going to the rack in transition.  He can really attack the rim.

AJ Seumanu, AZ Firestorm 16U- You just will not find many tougher kids than the class of 2024 wing.  He plays extremely hard with a tireless motor and a bit of a warrior mentality.  He covers some deficiencies in his game with pure hustle, heart and a motor that doesn’t seem to run out of gas.

Ezias Steffan, AZ Firestorm 16U- Steffan really has some tools, especially on the offensive end.  He can do a little bit of everything with the ball in his hands.  He scores from all three levels and has some sneaky bounce.  He does compete defensively but I’d like to see his feet get a little quicker when guarding speedy guards.
