HoopSeen South Carolina Preview Camp Top Performers I

This year's South Carolina preview camp was a fantastic event that featured a ton of talent from all over the region. The younger guys took the opportunity and used the platform to get their stories started. You'll find a reflection of that here in the first wave of our top performers from the event. That's what these events are for. They're built for players to get the chance to showcase themselves. The 2024 and 2025 classes showed that we have a lot to look forward to in the future, and we added some new names to our notebooks of players.

It could be argued that Andrews was the best shooter in the building on Sunday. The 2024 guard out of Spartanburg wasn’t just hoisting prayers at the rim though. Whether off the dribble or in catch-and-shoot situations, his shot selection always made sense. More than just a threat from deep, Andrews gets downhill and attacks the basket well. He’s also a willing, smart distributor as well. - Josh Tec

Evans is a player in the class of 2025 that has the potential to develop into a player who we spend the next few years writing about extensively. He’s already got good size and length at the guard spot. He can play both on and off the ball well too. He excels at getting to his spots and finishing. He converted several tough finishes through traffic, and when given space, he drained jumpers from all over the floor. This is a player whose development will be fun to track. He was already one of the best players in the gym on Sunday. - Josh Tec

There was not a player in attendance with more energy. This kid legitimately is a ball of energy and it shows on both ends of the court. Despite being one of the smaller players on the court, he got anything he wanted on the offensive end. Smith showed his ability to break down defenders off the dribble, consistently knock down 3-pointers, and distribute to his teammates. What stood out the most though, was his defense. He was easily one of the top on-ball defenders at the camp. His quick feet and active hands helped him be a constant disruptor. - Brianna Patton

Nobody dominated the station work and the game portions of The South Carolina Preview camp the way that Passmore did throughout the day. The 6-foot-5 guard from Asheville (NC) Reynolds High School was the best prospect I saw at the event. He excels in finishing at the rim and getting baskets off the bounce from the wing position. He spent time bringing the ball up the floor after getting big rebound after big rebound. He looks to have the ceiling of a high-major prospect and after Wake Forest pulled the trigger last week, Passmore also looks like one of the best prospects to come out of WNC in the last 20 years. - Justin Byerly

Julian Kiett

Kiett put on a performance yesterday that we saw glimpses of last travel season on the HoopSeen Association while he was with PCH Nightrydas. Since joining back up with Sam Gortman’s group, Kiett earned offers from Francis Marion University, Southern Wesleyan, Miles College and Benedict College. Kiett has the body of a Division I football recruit and couples that with explosion at the point guard position. He was unguardable off the dribble and was a highlight dunk waiting to happen when he got into the lane. We are a little confused at his recruitment right now, with some Division II schools being the only ones involved right now. Kiett plays at a high-level with a super motor every game and should be able to knock on some doors of some Division I programs over the next few months. - Justin Byerly
