Best of the South 17U Gold Champions: AE5

Pesky defenders helped the Pentagon Schoolers open up a 12-5 lead early in the game. Quick guards can get their hands in passing lanes and come up with steals leading to fast-break opportunities.

Three baskets from AE5, tied the game back up at 17 with just over five minutes remaining in the first-half. AE5 got their lead back with a three from Amon McDowell to take the lead 20-19 with just under five minutes left in the first half.

At the half, AE5 was up 31-25.

Albert White with 8 points leading AE5 and Cooper Long with 11 poins for Pentagon Schoolers.

AE5 looking like they are just a little too athletic for Pentagon Schoolers. In typical Georgia fashion, high-octane athletes are hard to beat.

AE5 with much of the same in the second half and they claim the TGBA Gold Division in the 17U bracket here at Best of the South. Leading the way for AE5 was Kory Mincy and Devon Rainey with 15 points a piece.
