While June results aren’t be all, end all evaluators for high school teams, they certainly provide some insight into how good a team might be when November comes, and in Georgia, Grayson figures to be in the upper echelon of teams yet again.

A mainstay in the Rams’ rotation for years, 2025 forward Amir Taylor will be one of the focal points on a deep Grayson team.

“We’re not playin’ around,” Taylor said of the Rams positive showing during the first June live period.

College coaches have taken notice of Taylor, which has led to him receiving early interest from SMU, Kennesaw State, Georgia State (offer), Wake Forest, Jacksonville, Loyola Chicago.

While his recruitment is just beginning to take shape, Taylor knows what he’s looking for at the next level.

“A coach that knows how to treat bigs and don’t have limits on their bigs, like if they want to step out and take a three or be a secondary ball handler,” Taylor said.

The 6-foot-8 forward has shown a well-rounded skill set that features skill with range from the paint out to the perimeter.

For the remainder of the summer, and moving forward, Taylor looks to show off the breadth of his game to on-looking coaches.

“Everything they need, I got,” Taylor said.

His game is vast, but he’s not complacent in his development. Taylor is still working to perfect his craft.

“My conditioning,  my perimeter defense,” Taylor said of what he’s working on improving the most.

Whether with Grayson during high school events, or with the Georgia Stars in July, Taylor is going to be a name that continues to pop around the southeast.
