Rechsteiner Picks Virginia Tech

Brandon Rechsteiner, the No. 7 player in HoopSeen’s 2023 Georgia rankings, has committed to Mike Young and Virginia Tech.

The Etowah and Atlanta Allstars guard picked the Hokies after being offered during the June live evaluation period. Rechsteiner also had offers from Xavier, LSU, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Miami, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Northwestern and more.

“I felt a real relationship with the coaching staff and everything checked the boxes of what I was looking for,” Rechsteiner said of his decision. “I trusted them and the opportunity was there for me.”

When Rechsteiner steps on campus in Balcksburg, what can Hokies fans expect out of the 6-foot-1 point guard?

“A player that will play hard and make an impact with my unselfish play and shooting ability,” Rechsteiner said.

Rechsteiner emerged as one of the south’s hottest prospects during the spring and summer, amassing a lengthy list of high major offers.
