2025 Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions Top Overall Performers

SUWANEE, GA - The Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions is one of the most storied, prestigious platforms in the travel basketball world. Shoe-sponsored teams and independents meet and battle through the weekend until champs are crowned.

Along the way, the best players separate themselves. The known add to their resume while under-the-radar names emerge on the big stage. To stand out, to be a top guy is different at Gibbons.

We have so much to get into from the weekend, and it all starts with the top overall performers from the 17U division.

Cutter Sisk, Tennessee Tigers - Another weekend worthy of being named a top performer for Sisk. He absolutely dominated on Saturday here at The Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions. He scored 28 and 27 points in his two games for the Tennessee Tigers. He propelled his team to the semi-finals of arguably one of the most prestigious tournaments in AAU basketball.

Sisk in my eyes has solidified himself as a next-level recruit. He has a lot of the tools necessary to compete at the college level. Size, footwork, rebounding, soft-hands and just an overall skill-set that translates.

Sisk has shown weekend after weekend that he should be in the talks as one of the best players on an independent team in the country. - Justin Byerly

Donaven Thomas, Griffin Grasshoppers - We all love a prospect that can score. Donaven Thomas did that as well as anyone this weekend at The Bob GIbbons Tournament of Champions. He has a knack for scoring the ball that is on another level and he did it game after game at Suwanee Sports Academy.

Thomas plays at Maynard Jackson High School in Atlanta, Georgia and should be in talks as one of the top players in the state going into his senior season. He can score from so many different spots on the floor, he is at his best when he is breaking down defenders and getting into the lane. If he’s not doing that, he can hurt you with his shooting ability. He can score moving off the ball or the set shot. - Justin Byerly

Jim Gatehouse, Top Shot - Size and shooting ability. That is what Gatehouse brings to the floor. He is a 6-foot-5 wing with a high basketball IQ from Charlotte (NC) South Mecklenburg High School.

He is an athletic prospect that Sim Frazier has been known to bring into his programs and thrive. I could see Gatehouse getting some low-to-mid offers once college coaches can get their eyes on him. In one game we watched during The Bob Gibbons TOC, Gatehouse knocked down five, three-pointers and finished with 19 points in a win. Gatehouse was huge in Top Shot’s run to the trophy at the prestigious event. - Justin Byerly

Zeki Locus, Hoop Athens - It was a bucket almost every time I saw Zeki Locus going downhill this weekend. It’s refreshing to see a guard attack the rim as efficiently as he does.

There are no wasted dribbles, and just when you start to wonder if he can shoot, he knocks down a big-time jumper. Locus is a guard I think a lot of coaches will take a liking to during the upcoming live periods. - Mekhi McKinney

Jay Green, SelfMade Ballers - Jay Green was one of the most college-ready guards in attendance this past weekend at Gibbons. He led his team to a 4-2 record and a championship game berth. Green plays with so much poise and pace in the pick-and-roll that he caused problems for defenses all weekend.

He even knocked down a one-legged runner just inside the three-point line at the buzzer in bracket play to help SelfMade Ballers advance. Green is a guard who will thrive at the next level, and we’ll be hearing his name a lot over the next couple of years. - Mekhi McKinney
