2024 HoopSeen Tip-Off: 17U Top Performers, Part III
SUWANEE, GA - The 2024 HoopSeen Tip-Off is in the books and we have a lot to sift through. The event proved to be the starting point for trending topics in travel basketball. Let's dive into the top overall performers from the 17 and under division.
The unsigned senior is what college coaches continually call me about. Size. Shot blocking. Rim-protector. Brafford is all of that and in a time of college coaches needing impactful players quickly, Brafford does bring that to the table. He is agile and does a good job of rebounding the ball as well. His brother Nate is a rising junior at Georgia Southern University. The old saying goes, “you can’t teach 7-foot” and this is the case with the younger Brafford.
Our Georgia hoop heads have probably heard of Stephen, a 1st Team All-Region Player at Shiloh HS this past season but it was my first time seeing him on our stage. Stephen is a do-it-all guy for Hoop Atlanta and he did it against some really tough competition. He scored 12 points against Georgia Stars EYBL, he went for 19 points against Florida Pro and he had 13 points and 6 rebounds against Team Judah Nation. We have always liked consistency and Stephen embodied that this weekend for Hoop Atlanta. - Justin Byerly
We like guys who help lead their team to an undefeated weekend. Days was outstanding for his program during the HoopSeen tipoff athletic guard was able to make plays on both end of the floor. He averaged around 13 points per game, was dishing out assists, and was also one of his teams leading rebounders. I have always been a fan of Florida athletic guards and Days fits that mold to a T. - Justin Byerly
I talked about Palmore in my Notebook from Saturday night. He is deserving of some more ink after his play this weekend. A pass-first point guard will always be important in my view of how basketball should be played. He understands the game at a high level. He has the skill set, the IQ and the point guard mentality that leads to wins. Right now he is receiving some low-major level recruitment and looks like he could get some minutes as a freshman at the Division II level. College coaches always need guys who don’t turn the ball over and make good decisions when they have it. - Justin Byerly
