2024 HoopSeen Tip-Off: 17U Top Performers, Part I
SUWANEE, GA - The 2024 HoopSeen Tip-Off is in the books and we have a lot to sift through. The event proved to be the starting point for trending topics in travel basketball. Let's dive into the top overall performers from the 17 and under division.
Sure, this is the Top Performer list from The HoopSeen Tip-Off but this dude is the overall top performer. He is just on another level when it comes to skillset and projection. He wants the ball in his hands. It was evident in Georgia Stars EYBL two close wins on Saturday. He wants to take the shot, he wants to try and score and get the win. He is a tough match-up with his skillset and footwork which allowed him to use so much more of the floor. Wilson is a no-brainer top-five prospect nationally and certainly lived up to that hype over the weekend. The 2024 travel season should be a good one for Wilson. - Justin Byerly
One thing that has been a common theme for our HoopSeen events over the years has been a Florida guy that has caught our attention. This year it was MJ Harper from Judah Nation. The 6-foot-3 prospect was sensational against EYBL member Georgia Stars. He had the whole old side of Suwanee Sports Academy buzzing with a one-handed jam over two Georgia Star defenders. He was able to make some difficult shots while being guarded by Caleb Wilson, a national top-10 recruit. Currently, Harper has an offer from Liberty University and I expect that list to grow by a lot over the next few months. - Justin Byerly
Jeremiah Police will be a steal for a college program. The unsigned senior is a stat sheet stuffer and his combination of versatility and athleticism allows him to play so many roles for the Florida Pro team and also how coaches could use him at the next level. He’s looking to chase down every shot on the defensive end and rebounds the ball well from the wing position, on the offensive end he has a reliable 3-point shot and you can almost count the bucket if he shoots it inside the paint. Police shouldn’t be on the open market for much longer if a college coach wants a steal. - Mekhi McKinney
Brewer was the missing piece for this Team Swish team that I saw a couple of weekends ago at our Georgia Cup I event. Brewer brought a different swagger to this group with his craftsmanship with the ball and acrobatic finishing ability around the rim. The District 12 player of the year is a stud on the court and in the classroom with a 4.33 GPA, there’s no reason for college coaches to be all over this kid. - Mekhi Mckinney
