2023 Fall Preview: Team 6 Evaluations
SUWANEE, Ga.—We’re deep into our coverage of Sunday’s Fall Preview camp. Our attention now turns to the team six evaluations.
Harmon was most impressive on the defensive end. He gave great effort and competed hard on that side of the ball. That’s enough to get good playing time.
Mbatchou wasn’t the biggest forward in terms of height, but he may have been the most physically overpowering around the basket. He’s built like someone who could be thriving on the gridiron right now. Maybe he is. He has good hands to pair with his advanced physicality.
Nixon was part of a healthy crop of underclassmen in attendance. He has plenty of time to continue to develop. He had some success hitting shots from the wing over the course of the afternoon. We look forward to seeing him level up in the coming years.
Sherman is a crafty guard. He utilized a change of speed well to get to the rim and score. He can create well off the bounce, and he plays with a good motor.
Watkins was tabbed as one of the camp’s top performers. You can read more about him here.
Wells showed a nice jumper and hit shots throughout the day. He has good guard size and is crafty when he gets into the lane. Wells played off of two feet well and was very controlled in his attack.
Garner showed a lot of promise. He makes good decisions with the ball, and his jump shot looks like it could be a serious weapon with continued reps. He was one of the freshmen in the gym. We’d like to see him continue to be more assertive over time. It was a good first impression from him.
Brewster is an athletic guard with a nice burst of speed that he uses to get by defenders. He brought an aggressive mindset with him. The Chattanooga guard is a good playmaker for himself and others.
Elzey is a point guard to know in the Peach State’s 2027 class. He makes good decisions with the ball. His passing ability makes everyone around him better. As he gets used to playing against older competition, his skill with the ball will shine more. We’ve seen him dominate in that regard in the 14U division.
Cole was tabbed as one of the camp’s top performers. You can read more about him here.
