2023 Fall Preview: Team 4 Evaluations
SUWANEE, Ga.—The 2023 Fall Preview content machine keeps rolling. We’ve covered some of the top overall performers, and we’ve broken down teams one through three.
That brings us to looking at the players that made up team four.
Look out for Bilal this winter. Playing alongside his older brother Karris and JR Leonard, Bilal will help form one of the more formidable backcourts in Georgia at Riverwood. He showed that he’s capable of carrying a team as a scorer and as a distributor. Bilal can fill it up from all levels and use craft and a nice burst of speed well to get to his spots. He routinely found his way into the paint throughout the afternoon and showed plenty of prowess on the defensive end.
Frazier always seemed to be in the right spots. He has good control of the ball and operates at a quick pace. Frazier was good in catch-and-shoot situations and used his floater over bigger defenders. His coach applauded his pesky defense.
Moore stood out because of his frame. He has long arms and solid size on the perimeter. He plays with a motor that runs high. He needs to polish his game some more, but his effort is in the right spot, and that’s half of the battle. Moore rebounded the ball well. He’s only a freshman, so his game will continue to round into form.
Thompson is a high-IQ shooter. He picks his opportunities well in that regard. Thompson keeps the offense flowing with his ball movement if he doesn’t have a shot. He’s also deceptively strong on defense.
White is a stronger guard who’s hard to stop from getting down hill. He finishes well at the rim and has a good shifty handle. White rebounded the ball well and proved to be a good on-ball defender.
Bernard Jr stuck his nose in battles for loose balls. He was a magnet for 50-50 balls. He showed that he can handle the ball when needed. Bernard Jr employed a solid mid-range game that came with a nice floater.
Bryant had a lot of success from the wing on Sunday. He’s a good shooter who routinely connected from deep, and he used a quick first step to attack the rack.
A 2027 with plenty of upside, Heggins had an eye-opening day. He ran the break well for a forward and showed to be a good finisher around the basket. Heggins was aggressive and looked to dunk everything. He rebounded the ball exceptionally well. Jot his name
Medor was one of the top performers at the NextGen preview camp a year ago, and now he’s getting valuable experience early against older competition. The 2027 F is scrappy around the basket and has developable skill away from it. He’s someone that can keep making a name for himself as his profile grows throughout his high school years.
