Defense was Lloyd’s specialty on Sunday. He’s a guard/wing who can defend multiple positions. He’s versatile on that end of the floor and can be a mismatch on offense. He finishes through contact and attacks the rim aggressively and showed promise scoring from the outside as well. He has plenty of tools to work with and will likely be a player that we talk about more in years to come. He’s part of a strong young core at Seckinger.

Neal was one of the youngest players at camp. He’s a guy who really took to instruction per his camp coach. He started to find his role as the day goes on, and by staying active with his development, he’s a player that can keep growing his confidence and getting better as the summer goes on.

#92 Tashaun Frasier: His coach loved Frasier so much that he jogged over to me during a break in one of their games to tell me about how much he liked him. It was his competitive spirit that won the coach over. Defense is where that spirit showed up the most. He’s stout in that aspect of the game. He’s a stopper. Put him on the best guard, and Frasier will give that guy issues. “There’ll always be a spot on a team for someone like him.”

#58 Markus Gibbs: Gibbs became the leader of his team. He was the consummate teammate per his coach. He was outstanding when he got into the paint. Gibbs finishes through contact well. Defensively, he anticipates well and can get steals as a result.

Jeremiah Phillips

Phillips is a smaller guard in height, but he’s strongly built. He looks like a running back, and that build helps him succeed against taller guys. He gets into the paint at will on offense and finishes through contact. Phillips is a strong defender and rebounds well for his position.

“He’s one of my favorite players here,” said his camp coach. It was the little things that separated Perkins from the pack. Those things that don’t show up on box scores that lead to wins. He’s a communicator, he moves the ball, and he competes on both ends of the floor. Personally, I loved how tough he was on defense. While we raved about his defense and ability to impact the game outside of the scoresheet, he can also put the ball through the bottom of the net. As good of a scorer as he can be, he can be an even better distributor. It’s no surprise that some schools have reached out already.
