2022 Fall Preview Team Two Breakdown
SUWANEE, GA—Our Fall Preview camp was a great way to get ready for the high school season. We’re doing an extensive breakdown of the camp, and our coverage brings us to team two.
Martin left an impression on his coach and the rest of our staff with his high IQ and feel for the game. He routinely made good passes that led to open shots. Martin also knocked a couple of his own shots down. He was a nice spot-up shooter. Martin is a guy who’s motivated to do well and learn, and he’s a great teammate.
One of the more eye-opening performers of the day was Josh Xiang. He had a solid guard frame with some size and physicality, and he works hard. Xiang plays fundamental basketball and limits mistakes. He knows where he needs to be on defense and plays that end of the floor with savvy, Offensively, he can make shots or thrive as a downhill attacker.
Pritchett is an interesting guard prospect with a physical frame. He’s strong and has some solid length. With his build, he can be used as a versatile defender who can swallow up smaller guards or keep in front of bigger forwards. As an offensive player, he’s aggressive and looks to attack the rim with purpose.
Alex Jasquith was one of the camp’s top performers. You can read more about him here.
Griffin was one of the underclassmen that had a solid performance on Sunday. He stood out as a multi-use player with a good motor. He runs the floor well and is a willing, competitive defender. Griffin also showed that he can reliably hit open jumpers by having a good shooting day.
Josh Kavel looks like he could be getting ready to have a stock-rising winter. He played with a ton of confidence on Sunday and was one of the players we kept coming back to when thinking of the day’s best, most productive guys. We’ve seen how great of a shooter Kavel is in the past, and he showed off that floor-spacing ability again. He combines strength and athleticism on drives and was able to get to the rim consistently. Kavel was one of the best players I saw on Sunday.
Foster-Martez isn’t going to bring a pretty style of basketball to the floor, but he’s going to make winning plays. He’s a player who fully embraces the dirty work. He doesn’t need to score to impact the game. Foster-Martez is going to guard, secure loose balls, rebound, and generally do whatever it takes to win basketball games. His motor had coaches buzzing when it was all said and done, but his leadership was right up there as well. Foster-Martez was a phenomenal teammate who constantly encouraged his guys. It’s tough to teach the intangibles that Foster-Martez naturally brings on a game-by-game basis.
Kenley Walker was a guy that brought it on the defensive end of the floor. He’s a willing defender who can be a pest on the point of attack. He’s good with the ball in his hands and attacks the rack well. Walker also proved to be a solid shooter.
A freshman guard out of south Georgia, Williams had a nice outing at the Fall Preview. He can be the next up in a long lineage of good guards to come from the southern part of the state. Williams shot the ball well throughout the day. While he can score in bunches, he has enough feel to know when to make the extra pass. When in attack mode, Williams is a shifty guard who’s hard to keep in front. He was a pesky defender who was able to generate some steals too.
