2022 Fall Preview Team Six Breakdown

SUWANEE, GA—This is it. This team six breakdown will close the door on HoopSeen’s camp season for 2022. We will be back in March with some pre-travel camps, but for now, we excitedly turn our attention to the high school stage.

Before we get there, check out what our coaches and staff had to say about the players that made up team six at the Fall Preview.

Hunter showed early and often he could get by just about any defender in front of him. The 6-foot-1 guard is very familiar with his best operating spots on the floor and he got to them whenever he wanted. He did a nice job of mixing things up between mid-range jumpers around the elbow and attacking the rim. Hunter made some slick finishes in the paint that raised some eyebrows, too.  - Garrett Tucker

Splitting time between being a quarterback and point guard, Bealer’s vision and ability to lead a team showed on Sunday. He’s a high-IQ guard who puts his teammates in positions to be successful. Bealer makes tremendous reads as a passer and makes the game easier for everyone around him. He’s a threat to shoot it and utilizes that to his advantage with shot fakes, keeping defenders guessing. He takes contact well on drives to the basket and can play a more physical style if the game calls for that.

Miller was a guy who stood out to us last year during camp season. He’s an athletic slasher who plays with an edge on both sides of the ball. Miller is athletic and can be a defensive stopper who gets tasked with tougher assignments. He has a knack for being able to fulfill a variety of roles. Miller’s a great utility guy who makes plays happen instinctually.

DeLoach caught attention right off the bat. He has the type of frame that causes you to stop and watch. He’s still a little raw in some areas, but he showed plenty of potential and had a productive day. Early on, he impressed via his rebounding. He used his 6-foot-6 build to make an impact on the glass. As the day went on, DeLoach showed some shooting touch and was able to connect on jumpers consistently.

Petty is a high-motor forward who plays bigger than he is. He’s athletic and will play a tough, physical style. On both ends of the floor, Petty’s a mismatch. He can be a switchable defender. He can pull other forwards out to the perimeter and blow by them for easy buckets, or he can body up smaller guards. Petty has a nice-looking jumper and looks to be a consistent threat from beyond the arc.

Avery White was one of the more impressive guards on the day. He’s athletic and quick. When he’s in attack mode, he has little issue getting to where he wants to go with the ball. At the rim, he’s a creative finisher and doesn’t mind contact. White’s a guard who will get to the free-throw line and pick up some extra points. It looks like he’s added some muscle to his frame recently. At Milton, he should be one of the main guys this coming season and should have a strong winter with the Eagles.

Dior Smith

Smith is a guard in the 2025 class that has been on our radar for a while. He’s a shifty creator and can take guys off the bounce by keeping them on their heels. On Sunday, Smith knocked down open shots consistently. What impressed us and his coaches the most was his willingness to pursue loose balls aggressively.

Andre Dollard Jr

On the younger side of the camp, Dollard had times in which he shined. He showed off some feel with smart passes. Dollard picked his spots to attack wisely and didn’t force plays. It benefitted himself and those around him. When he did elect to assert himself, he was able to connect on shots from the perimeter efficiently.
