Fall Preview Top Performers I

SUWANEE—One of our last camps of the season, the Fall Preview was one of the most fun we've had all year. Some greats from Georgia showed up and showed out. I couldn't think of a better way for us to send off the camp season and usher in the high school season. We're excited to bring you our first wave of top performers from camp. There's no doubt that you'll be hearing a lot from these guys throughout the winter.

Bond is essentially the energizer bunny. He just keeps going and going. Bond is the kind of player who just goes hard all the time on both ends of the floor. On defense, he’s always one of the best on-ball defenders in the gym. He’s a strong, athletic playmaker who can get to the rim with ease and finish through contact. One thing about his game that seems to be rounding into form is his range. He can be relied upon to knock down a couple of shots from beyond the arc. He’s a guy who I could see having a major uptick in his recruitment after this season with Norcross. He’s poised for a breakout. - Josh Tec

If you were at or glanced over to whichever court Aleem was playing on, there was a very high chance he was in the air. This kid is absolutely fearless in attacking the rim and wants to put a defender on a poster each time he has the opportunity. He was easily one of the top athletes at the camp. Coaches and spectators looked on in awe each time he left the floor because of how high he gets and the power that he throws it down with. Look for him to be a big contributor for Heritage (Conyers) this season. - Brianna Patton

One of the state’s best big men, and he reminded us of that by dominating the Fall Preview. Pounds punished rims all day long and converted multiple reels worth of highlight alley-oops. Any missed shot became his rebound, and he protected the rim well too. Pounds flexed his shooting ability by netting his fair share of 3-pointers too. He’ll be a candidate to have a monster season with Newton this year. I can’t wait to watch it. - Josh Tec

I’d contend that Blackwell was the best point guard in the building on Saturday. Do you remember when I talked about Daniel Pounds catching alley-oops all day? Well, Blackwell threw most of them, and he dished out a bevy of other nifty passes too. He’s a tenacious defender who will turn you over in the blink of an eye. Blackwell can also score with the best of them. He looked like he was toying with people for much of the afternoon. - Josh Tec

There might not have been a player that made an impression on me more than Williamson. He’s a guy who I couldn’t stop talking to people about. Williamson is a long guard who shines on both ends of the floor. Defensively, he uses his length to bother opposing guards and rack up deflections. On the other end of the floor, he’s a smooth operator with plenty of wiggle to his game. He attacks with a shiftiness that allows him to get to the bucket whenever he wants. - Josh Tec
