BP's Three Things from Georgia Cup Finals Day 2

Day 2 of the Georgia Cup Finals was slammed packed full of action. Take a look at the three things that stood out most.

30 Balls

There were a number of 30 balls handed out throughout the day. Daquavious Harrison of YSE Hustle poured in 30 points on 7 3PM. Harrison has been consistent in just about every HoopSeen event as far as his three point shooting, therefore, him knocking down seven was not surprising but still impressive nonetheless. Terrence Moore of Georgia Vision also scored 30 points. While his team lost, he was still one of the best players on the court and had his way inside the lane all game. Even the underclassmen joined the 30 ball crew. TJ Boyd of Metro Elite dropped 31 points in their win this morning.

Flame 2022 Duo Shines

The duo of Chris Dorbor and Cooper Rubio made a big time statement today. One week removed from being named a top Georgia standout from the Bob Gibbons TOC, Dorbor has continued on that momentum. The high flyer is an impact player on both ends of the floor. He nearly connected on a poster dunk that would have easily went viral. The star of the show in Flame's first game Saturday though was Cooper Rubio. This kid is a skilled guard that can easily create offense for himself as well as get his teammates going. He has a nice jumper from the outside and gets into the lane with no problems. Rubio has a smoothness about his game that just screams of his potential. The duo combined for 48 points.

Amari Willis: The Difference Maker

In one of the best games I saw today between Metro Elite and GAA, Amari Willis was absolutely the difference maker in Metro Elite's one point win. This is one of those players that will leave his all on the court. He made several blocks down the stretch and dominated the boards. When I say he lived at the FT line, I mean it. Of his 24 points, 12 of them came from the line, including the GW FT. His high activity level on both ends got his team in the bonus fairly quickly in the second half and he took advantage of it. I'd take a player like this on my team any day.
