Alabama’s top recruit closes chapter in Jacksonville as he looks to take on another challenge in Branson, Missouri.

Shortly after committing to the University of Tennessee, 6-foot-9 four star forward Cade Phillips is taking his talents to Link Academy. Phillips put on a clinic in the 4A state championship game with 19 points and was one of the leading players responsible for bringing the blue map to Jacksonville.

Phillips said there was a lot that went into the decision of leaving Jacksonville, but winning a state title made him think about what else he wanted to accomplish in his highschool career.

“I realized when my goals were met in Jacksonville, I needed to do other things,” Phillips said. “I’m going to miss everything about this team. Those guys are like family to me.”

His teammates were very encouraging about his decision to leave, Philips said. It was a sense of understanding to why he was leaving and it made everything that much harder.

“All around Link is going to allow me to play the top guys in the country everyday while having the resources of a college,” Phillips said.
