On the Floor With Scruggs
Ti'Avian Scruggs is a 6-foot-6 swing-forward from Hazel Green, Alabama, and this elite player has a lot of upside to his game and is one of the best available players in the state.
Scruggs has solid size and an excellent build for a player that’s ready to play for the college level. He runs the floor exceptionally well and is very smooth, finishing at the basket. Scruggs does a great job creating plays off the wing; he can be very explosive with the first dribble and is consistent with his pull-up jumper from the mid-range.
Scruggs portrays a lot of versatility on the floor; his nice stroke around the perimeter makes him a threat from the three bus Scruggs can also use his size to back smaller defenders down in the post. He is a solid rebounder and gives excellent intensity on defense.
Scruggs says his handles with his right hand have gotten so much better and stronger during the summer. Scruggs mentioned that he wants to become more efficient with his scoring when it comes to improving his game.
He was asked what aspect of the game comes easiest to him.
“Playmaking,” he said. “I feel I always know the spots where my teammates can have a great day at.”
College Interest/Goals
Scruggs says he has gained interest from Alabama A&M, Jacksonville St, Lander University, Freed Hardeman University.
Scruggs is scheduled for a visit to Lander University sometime soon.
As for what Scruggs is looking for in a school, he wants to play at the Division 1 level.
He was asked about his goals for his final season with Hazel Green.
“My goal this season is to win the 6A state championship,” he said.
Scruggs says his favorite player to watch and study is Mike Beasley/Kevin Porter Jr.
He was asked what basketball has taught him that carries over into the other areas of his life.
“Being Disciplined at all times,” Scruggs said.
Away from the game, Scuggs enjoys listening to Lil Baby and Playing NBA 2K.
