Alabama's Barry Dunning Commits to Arkansas
Alabama’s #2 Recruit
Barry Dunning is a 6-foot-6 Small Forward from Mobile, Alabama. He’s currently ranked the number one prospect in the State of Alabama and ranks #70 in the nation by ESPN. This four-star recruit has the size and the athletic ability to sit at the top of the mountain in Alabama.
Dunning had a fantastic junior season averaging nearly 22 points and 11 rebounds per game. It was capped off by being selected as Gatorade Alabama Basketball Player of the Year.
With his elite performance from the regular season, Dunning has pulled in offers from the likes of LSU, Georgia Tech, and Memphis, to name a few. At the tip of the live period, Dunning decided to take his name off the board on July 5th by verbally committing to Arkansas.
Dunning Visits Arkansas Campus
After receiving an offer from the Razorbacks last November, Dunning was finally able to take an official visit to the campus back in June.
He was asked about his visit and the anticipation of meeting head coach Eric Musselman and the rest of the Razorbacks coaching staff.
“It was a great visit,” he said. “The atmosphere was a family base and great community. Never a dull moment with the coaching staff.” Dunning went on to say that his family enjoyed every second of it.
With so many top offers on the table, what led to Dunning's commitment to Arkansas?
He explained that decision came from Arkansas being the best fit for him. “I feel like it’s a place where I can maximize my potential on and off the court,” Dunning said.
Now that he has fully committed and can now switch gears to focusing on his senior season, what’s next for Barry Dunning?
Dunning says winning the state title is on his agenda for this upcoming season and getting better every day, preparing himself for college.
