Josh Bowman opts for UT-Chattanooga

One of the biggest stock risers from the June scholastic events in the South was 2025 Huntsville (AL) big man Josh Bowman. He landed a handful of scholarship offers after his play, including one from UT-Chattanooga head coach Dan Earl. Last week, Bowman opted to commit to the Mocs.

”I knew right after I visited that Chattanooga was perfect for me,” he told HoopSeen.com. “I love the coaching staff and the relationships I’ve already built with them, too.”

Bowman, a lanky 6-foot-9 big man, is a perfect fit for Earl’s fast-paced offense that’s predicated on shooting the basketball. The rising senior shot 25% from 3 with Pro One on the Under Armour circuit during the travel season, proving he can step out and make a shot when necessary. Bowman is also an ideal high upside big man that can move and run while also providing service on the defensive end of the floor.

“I watched a workout while I was there and could see myself fitting in with the guys. We also watched some film and the coaches showed me that their style of play really fits my game.”

While he’s only been committed for a few weeks, Bowman is already feeling the love from the Southern Conference program.

”I’ve already begun to realize that the fan base is super supportive of UT-Chattanooga athletics and I’m excited to become a part of the team. Chattanooga is a great city and close enough for friends and family to come to games,” he explained.

Bowman chose the Mocs over scholarship offers from Abilene Christian, Illinois-Chicago, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Miami (OH), Murray State, North Alabama, and Tennessee Tech.

He is the No. 9 overall prospect in Alabama’s 2025 class.
