Ten more standouts from the Alabama Fall Preview
GUNTERSVILLE, AL — The 2023 edition of the Alabama Fall Preview was one of the most talented camps we’ve had in our near decade of doing them. When we polled our coaches and staff on their top players from the day, there were different answers all across the board.
Here are ten more standouts that caught the eye of our team on Sunday…

Jay Green, 2026 PG, Thompson: I thought Green did an excellent job of making the correct play during action on Sunday. The stout 6-foot-1 floor general takes pride in finding open scorers with the extra pass and he did plenty of that during camp. He also took pride on the defensive end of the floor, challenging ball-handlers and keeping them in front.
D.J. Hamlett, 2024 CG, Hillcrest: Hamlett did a nice job of showcasing his all-around game at camp, whether he was utilizing his athleticism to make plays at the rim or creating opportunities with others with his vision and slick passes. The 6-foot-5 lefty has a natural feel for the game and can score it from deep, too. I expect Hamlett to be popular among college programs during the high school season.
Jeremiah Williams, 2026 CG, Shades Valley: Williams has become notorious around the state for his knockdown shooting ability. He made plenty of shots at the Fall Preview, but I was also impressed with his savvy play with the ball in his hands. He was a smooth operator with the ball in his hands and made several finishes in the paint through traffic.
Harry Malone, 2025 CG, Austin: If you’re looking for someone that brought the energy to camp, look no further than Harry Malone. The 6-foot guard was a menace on defense with his length and quickness, leading to several steals and deflections per game.
Devin Barksdale, 2025 PG, Jacksonville: Barksdale has the basketball on a string and it was on full display at Supreme Courts. The junior point guard had the ball in his hands a lot, where he hunted for his shot and made good decisions in pick-and-roll opportunities. Jacksonville lost a lot to graduation last year, so expect Barksdale to put up some points this season.
Mica Merriman, 2025 PG, Gaston: There weren’t many guards with an IQ like Merriman in our field. He did a nice job mixing things up with the ball in his hands, whether it was making lead passes up the sideline in transition or hitting gaps and creating scoring opportunities in the half-court. The junior does a nice job of seeing the next pass and keeping the ball moving.
Tristan Gilmore, 2024 WF, McAdory: Gilmore is one of the more intriguing prospects in the entire state. The bouncy, 6-foot-6 forward has a nice combination of skill, athleticism, and upside. On Sunday, the rising senior went after every rebound and looked for opportunities to play above the rim. I think Gilmore is only going to get better and his best basketball is ahead of him.
Trindon Manior, 2026 CG, Opelika: Need a pleasant surprise from the weekend? Look no further than Opelika guard Trindon Manior, who blew some people away with his energy and natural ability. The 5-foot-10 guard played with his foot on the gas from start to finish and was a nightmare for opposing defenses. Manior also raised some eyebrows with his bounce and athleticism.
Ke’von Walker, 2025 PF, Huffman: We’ve seen Walker a lot during his high school career, whether it’s during the high school season, the travel season, or the camp setting. Each time out he’s shown marginal improvement. The 6-foot-6 forward kept defenses on their toes with his shooting range and ability to stretch the floor. As usual, he made an impact with his motor and defense, too. Keep an eye on Walker this season.
Reid Stodghill, 2024 PF, Hewitt-Trussville: Another big man that showed some considerable improvement on Sunday was Stodghill. The 6-foot-9 big man is a true physical specimen at his size and frame. He made the most of his strength and size while finishing through defenders. However, he also stretched his shooting range out to the three-point line and made some shots. It was nice to see this improving facet of his growing arsenal.
