Fastbreak Friday, Mid-major edition: Abilene Christian, Jacksonville & Kennesaw State set to host important visitors

Labor Day weekend marks the beginning of football season, and, thus, visit season for college basketball. We’ve already headlined a ton of the weekend visitors in the Fastbreak Friday, but how about some mid-major flavor?

If you know anything about HoopSeen, we love a good bracket buster. And believe it or not, potential bracket busters are going to be visiting non-Power Five campuses this weekend, too.

Here’s three important prospects visiting mid-major programs to keep an eye on going forward…

FASTBREAK FRIDAY: Kansas & Indiana are the college campuses to watch this weekend

CHRISTIAN ALSTON - ABILENE CHRISTIAN

I have been beating the Christian Alston drum for almost a year now after he broke out at last year’s Lighthouse Classic. The long, rangy 6-foot-6 wing impressed with his combination of shooting and defensive intangibles, making him an intriguing 3&D prospect.

It may have taken a little longer than expected for the scholarship offers to start rolling in, but Abilene Christian was one of the first schools that pursued him. In fact, they went two-deep to watch him and his Bartlett teammates in the BCAT June team camp.

Needless to say, the Wildcats have made Alston a priority and getting him on campus this early is a win for the program. He will also visit Alabama State, Middle Tennessee State, and Murray State in the future, too.

ENRICO BORIO - JACKSONVILLE

We’re no stranger to Enrico Borio on the HoopSeen circuit. The skilled, playmaking forward landed on our top HoopSeen Association forward list a few weeks ago, so it’s safe to say he’s shown his worth with us.

This weekend, the North Broward Prep standout will head north to Jacksonville for his first official visit. The Dolphins extended a scholarship after Florida’s scholastic event in June, and Borio could play a vital role for head coach Jordan Mincy.

Borio, who plays for the Brazilian national team, is a savvy player with a cerebral understanding of the game. His mis-match abilities make him an intriguing prospect at the next level, especially for a creative coach like Mincy. Keep an eye on UT-Chattanooga and Portland here as well.

ADRIAN WOOLEY - KENNESAW STATE

2024 Tuscaloosa (AL) Paul Bryant Adrian Wooley was one of the biggest stock risers from the July evaluation periods. Following a strong showing at the UA Finals with Pro One, the 6-foot-4 guard landed a couple of scholarship offers and loads of interest.

Nevertheless, a handful of teams had already made some valuable inroads in Wooley’s recruitment. Kennesaw State is one of those teams. The Owls offered him after an impressive performance against Cullman in the AHSAA Team Camp in June, where he showed his ability to dominate a game as a passer and playmaker.

Don’t forget that new Kennesaw State head coach Antoine Pettway is quite familiar with Wooley dating back to his time as an assistant coach at Alabama. He and his staff will be trying to make a strong impression this weekend. Wooley also took an official visit to Murray State last weekend.
