Six potential AHSAA Team Camp blow-up players from the class of 2025
The June scholastic live periods tip off this Friday across the country, as each state has the option to host its own NCAA certified events. I’ll be in Hoover, Alabama for the AHSAA Team Camp at the Finley Center.
With that being said, here are six potential blow-up players I’ll be monitoring from the class of 2024…
I caught Barksdale for the first time this spring in the 16U championship of Bama Jam, where he scored 13 of Pro One’s first 17 points of the game. Needless to say, the 6-foot-4 guard was impressive, showcasing his scoring acumen and ball skills along the way. I’m excited to see Barksdale some more, and I think he’s a guy I have valued too low at this point.
Berry was another guard that left his mark at the Bama Jam. The shifty, high-octane scorer was one of the top performers in the 17U division, and I can see him putting up points inside the Finley Center yet again. Coming off a 7A final four appearance, plenty of eyes should be on Dothan and Berry this weekend.
It’s been a busy few weeks for Brown, who has participated in the Pangos All-American camp and the Nike Elite 100. The strong, 6-foot-8 big man is already a priority for high-major programs, but I think he will become a priority for even more schools this month. I’ve spoken to several coaches that plan to see Brown and the Bucs’ strong 2025 class this weekend.
Rivers has been really good for Huntsville High this month, and nothing echoes that more than his first scholarship offer from Jacksonville State. The strong, 6-foot-5 wing scored 23 points and 30 points in two games at JSU’s team camp, so he’s on a roll going into the weekend. I’ll be keeping tabs on him in Hoover.
Ramsay lost a heckuva point guard in Jalen Jones to graduation, and it sounds like Williams is going to do a lot of running the show for the Rams going forward. That’s an exciting development for Williams, who is a long, 6-foot-6 guard with a nice feel for the game. Despite holding scholarship offers from Troy and UAB, I don’t think too many people realize how good this guy is.
Wilson, a 6-foot-4 combo guard, got off to a phenomenal start this spring with the Alabama Fusion, showcasing his shooting and passing ability. His production was terrific, but I’ll be honest — when I watch Wilson play, I get flashbacks of a young Herb Jones at the same age. The Buckhorn product has a ton of upside and will only get better with time. It wouldn’t surprise me if he gets to the 6-foot-7 mark, either. Wilson is my biggest breakout guy to watch for this weekend.
