Unsigned senior Izzy Miles is generating recruiting interest
It has been a busy few months for 2023 Huntsville (AL) Grissom guard Izzy Miles. Between playing travel ball as an unsigned senior, the college coaching carousel, and a fluid recruitment, there hasn’t been enough time in each day for him.
Miles, a 6-foot-2 guard, was a standout for Team Loaded 828 a few weeks ago at the HoopSeen Tip-Off. He was one of the top available seniors from the event, playing primarily on the ball as a point guard.
His standout play earned a call-up to play with Team Loaded NC for the rest of the spring. Miles will team-up with sophomore Eli Ellis in Loaded’s backcourt during the April live periods.
Miles hopes to garner more interest from Division I schools later this month. His recruitment has been a rocky road recently with coaching changes. He earned scholarship offers from NJIT and Cal State Northridge shortly following the high school season. However, both schools ultimately decided to go different directions with their coaches, leaving the senior without those scholarship offers.
Fortunately for Miles, he’s already adding offers and interest before the evaluation periods. Tarleton State extended a scholarship offer earlier this week, while Furman, UNC-Asheville and UT-Chattanooga are showing interest.
With the transfer portal spinning at a record rate, there are plenty of quality unsigned seniors surfing under the radar. Miles is definitely one of those, and he’s a quality guard that could help a program at the next level.
Keep an eye on him over the next few weeks.
