Three Standouts from the HoopSeen NEXT Tip-Off
SUWANEE, GA - The travel season officially tipped off over the weekend at Suwanee Sports Academy with the HoopSeen NEXT Tip-Off. Some of the top middle school programs took to the hardwood and jump-started the action. These three guys from the 8th grade division really stood out.
Bryce Kidd put out great performances all weekend, showcasing his handle and ability to score on all three levels. Kidd is a lanky wing who can take over a game at any time. In the two games I watched him at our HoopSeen NextGen Tip-Off, he had moments where he completely dominated the game, either by getting to the paint and making plays for teammates or creating a shot for himself. Kidd will definitely be a prospect we talk about a lot in Georgia's 2028 class.
Tyler Wilson made it look too easy all weekend. He was an absolute problem for opposing teams with his combination of speed and athleticism, enabling him to get to the rim at will. Wilson finished the weekend with two 30-point performances and another two games with over 20 points. He will be, if not already, one of the better guards next up out of Alabama.
Christian Edwards has been a joy to watch every time I’ve gotten to watch him. Edwards led his Milton middle school team to a GYBA championship a couple of weeks ago and continued his stellar play when starting off his travel season with Mamba Elite. Edwards is a two-way guard who thrives in transition and excels on defense at the other end. Edwards can either go for 10 assists or have stretches where he might knock down three 3-pointers in a row. It will be fun watching him and his game develop for years to come.
