2022 Alabama Preview Camp Team 3 Evaluations
GUNTERSVILLE, Al—Per usual Alabama brought the heat to HoopSeen’s Bama preview camp. We’ve been digging into the details of the camp and that brings us to the team three player evaluations. Take a look at that our staff and coaches had to say about this group.
Hall was on the younger side of players, but he showed plenty of potential throughout the afternoon. One thing that immediately stood out was that he brought energy to both ends of the floor. Hall pursued the ball hard, intensely which resulted in his team gaining several loose balls. He was solid at the point guard spot and has a nice-looking shot. As he continues to develop, he has a chance to be a really good player down the line.
Webb had an impressive day on Sunday. He caught attention with his athleticism and motor. Webb’s a slasher who can play any perimeter spot. He made nice plays on drives with the ball in his hands, and his physicality allowed him to take contact well. He has a solid foundation to work on over the next few years.
There were some great shooters in the gym on Sunday. It was one of the themes of the day for me, and St. Clair was among the best of them. Allowing him any space all but guaranteed seeing the ball pass through the bottom of the net. Other than being a sniper from the perimeter, St. Clair impressed with some nice passes and good decision making.
Martin has a good frame for a perimeter player. At 6-foot-5, he has good shooting touch and can knock ‘em down consistently from deep. His athleticism is probably underrated. Martin also plays with plenty of craft in his game, and he really processes things well on the court. There’s a lot to like when it comes to Martin. I could see him impressing some coaches during the winter or spring.
Alexander was among the best pure point guards on Sunday. The sophomore out of Grissom will probably be talked about in discussions regarding the state’s best guards at some point in his high school career if he isn’t already. He’s a quick, shifty guard with great handles. He can get to his spots to score or connect with teammates for assists. Alexander has great vision and balances being a distributor with being a scorer well. On defense, Alexander guards the point of attack well and generates plenty of steals and deflections.
RJ Johnson was tabbed as one of the camp’s top performers. You can read more about him here.
