Clutch Three Helps Alabama Fusion Complete the Comeback to Win the 15U White Gibbons Title

Alabama Fusion 57, TSF 2025 53

SUWANEE, GA - In one of the top games of the weekend, I got to see two of the top 2025 teams battle it out in a stellar game for the 15U title. After being down nearly 20 points in the first half, Alabama Fusion clawed their way back one possession at a time. Down one with one minute left, Salim London knocked down a corner three to put Fusion on top for good.

This game was a tale of two halves. TSF got off to a fast start, leading Fusion 13-3 in the first couple of minutes. Eric Chatfield Jr. set the tone early, causing havoc on defense and pushing the tempo to get TSF easy buckets in transition. TSF was able to get the lead to nearly 20 points before Fusion settled in and went on a 11-2 run to close the half, bringing the score to 34-24 at the half.

Fusion was able to hold on to that momentum coming into the last half, going on a 12-4 run to open the half. Caleb Wilson London, and Hill were starting to turn their play up. With 10 minutes left in the game, TSF held on to a 41-35 lead while Fusion's Caleb Wilson had to head to the bench with four fouls. Fusion was able to continue cutting TSF's lead with Wilson on the bench, largely due to London's scoring. Wilson returned a few minutes later and there was a spurt where he and Jacob Wilkins traded buckets for a few possessions. With four minutes remaining, the game was tied at 50, then Fusion finally took its first lead of the game with 2:25 left.

With one minute remaining, Chatfield hit a big three to put TSF back up 53-52 with one minute left. After consecutive possessions resulting in turnovers for both teams, Fusion had the ball with 10 seconds to go. On that possession, London was left open in the corner and drained a 3-pointer to put Fusion up 55-53 with four seconds left. That basket ultimately secured the win for Fusion in a great title game.

Three players finished the game in double figures for Fusion led by J. Hill's 19 points. London finished with 17 and Wilson finished with 10. Jamari Mosley led TSF with 14 and Chatfield added 12.
