Best of the South finished off the weekend with almost 300 college coaches in attendance and 517 teams that provided a high level of competition. Take a look at some top performers that came out of the great state of Alabama.

It's no surprise that Team Speights AL's Colby McAllister came out as one of the top players in Alabama. He had a mission to come out and show his talents at Best of the South, and I believe that mission was complete. This 6-foot-4 guard left everything on the floor; he played with high energy like always and put on an outstanding shooting performance throughout the weekend. At his best, McAllister knocked down six threes and finished with a weekend-high 29 points, making it look oh so easy. In a postgame interview with Hoopseen's Austin Smith, McAllister credited his good shooting to staying locked in. "You can't get in your head; you just got to keep shooting," he said. "If you miss who cares, shooters shoot." He would finish the weekend averaging almost 21 points per game.

Reed Trapp

Alabama General's Reed Trapp came through with another solid performance. He had a mouth off from the travel season and came back right where he left off. Trapp is a 6-foot-5 two-way guard that came to Best of the South and did not skip a beat. He provided great shooting from around the perimeter and was hard to defend in a one-on-one situation. In each game, you can expect Trapp to put up big numbers on the scoreboard and pull down a significant number of rebounds. This elite guard closed out the weekend averaging 15 points per game.

Reece Gurner is a 6-foot-1 guard playing with the Pro One Select, and boy, is this kid tough. Watching him on the court is undoubtedly a sight to see. He brings a great level of intensity on both ends of the floor, he possesses nice handles and is very efficient add get into his favorite spot on the floor. Gurner has a nice release from the three and is not afraid to fire it off in a defender's face. Gurner applied some major pressure against the Dallas Showtyme, leading his team to a dominant 90-73 win. He would drop a whopping 35 points, putting on one the best scoring performances that weekend.

Christian Thompson

Christian Thompson was one of the top Bigs coming out of Alabama that really controlled the paint. This 6-foot-6 forward had a solid showing at Best of the South, and it gave All Alabama the fuel to go 6-0 this weekend. Thompson is a fighter going for boards on both ends on the floor and can finish strong in the post. In one of his best games, he came out with a nice double-double of 15 points and ten rebounds. Thompson also a solid defensive presence getting three blocks in a win over MI Warriors. Looking forward to this kid bringing it for the rest of the live period.
