Threadgill Sets Georgia Visit

 

 

 

6-foot-6 guard Jackson Threadgill went from a final five of top tier mid-major programs to an offer from SEC school Georgia in just a little over three weeks.

 

He will take an official visit to Wofford this weekend followed by official visits to Mercer on September 13-14, Charlotte on September 20-21.^. He will then head to Athens on September 27-28 for an official at Georgia. Threadgill broke down his four remaining official visits and what he hopes to take away from the visits.

 

Wofford- “Looking forward to being around the guys and getting to play around them some, getting to see how I fit into their system.”

 

Mercer- “Getting around the guys, getting a better feel for coaching staff and getting a better feel for the campus.”

 

Charlotte- “Continuing to build a relationship with the staff. Coach Vic Sfera has been consistent throughout the process. He has been recruiting me since he was at Liberty and keeping that relationship going.”

 

Georgia- “Getting around the players, getting to watch practice, seeing how they want to play and fit in. Getting to build a better relationship with the coaching staff. Coach Scott and I have a good relationship, seeing how he feels I would fit there.”

 

Re-capping Josh Hall’s Louisville Official Visit

 

 

HoopSeenNC ‘s top-ranked senior Josh Hall took a visit to The University of Louisville over the weekend. HoopSeen caught up with his dad, Quincy Hall to re-cap the visit that also coincided with a home football game against Notre Dame.

 

“You have to go where you are needed/wanted in this process. Joshua’s skill set allows him to play anywhere but is he that coaches’ guy? Louisville wants him and has wanted him. Sometimes you can’t get the love you need at home so you have to leave home to get it. He’s accustomed to not being at home so we’ll see where the chips fall.”

 

Hall is scheduled to officially visit NC State this weekend. He has three remaining official visits remaining if he chooses to take them.

 

Former Tennessee Tech Commit Still Available

 

 

West Henderson (NC) High School guard Ben Bryson was a standout on our HoopSeen stage playing with the Tennessee Bobcats earning All-Tournament honors at The Atlanta Jam and The Best of the South.

 

The former Tennessee Tech commit now sports an offer from Newbery. He recently took an unofficial visit to Lipscomb University. He has been gaining interest from UT-Chattanooga, Holy Cross, Toledo, William and Mary, Rice and Dartmouth. Bryson went to elite camps at Lafayette, Bucknell and Tennessee Tech.

 

Recruitment to Watch

 

Greensboro (NC) Ben L. Smith High School senior Nic McMullen has two official visits set. This upcoming weekend, the 6-foot-8 Team Felton forward will visit Murray State and then will wait until the weekend of September 28^th to visit College of Charleston.

 

This recruitment is intriguing with Ridge View (SC) High School forward Ja’Von Benson also including College of Charleston in his final two schools. Benson is scheduled to officially visit South Carolina this weekend.

 

Murray State has had quite a run with the Southeast, recruiting-wise, landing Team Speights point guard Dionte Blanch and Upward Stars forward Ja’Queze Kirby. The addition of McMullen would make for a well rounded class.

 

Dubar Lands Back in North Carolina

 

Darlinstone Dubar, a 6-foot-6 wing who spent this past season at Athens Prep in Tennessee is back in North Carolina attending Combine Academy in Lincolnton, North Carolina coached by former NBA player Jeff McInnis. Dubar is a highly recruited prospect that has offers from Seton Hall, Notre Dame, Wichita State, Auburn, VCU, Marquette and Kansas State.

 

Most Under-Recruited Player in NC?

 

 

6-foot-5 forward Reggie Raynor of Fayetteville (NC) Northwood Temple is my pick. One of the most athletic players in the region, Raynor is skilled and can jump out of the gym and has length.

 

I feel he has the game to come in and contribute at the Sun Belt or CAA conference level. He is an undersized four, which may have a little to do with his lack of recruitment but at the end of the day he is basketball player and affects the game in ways that other cannot.

 

Raynor shined on the HoopSeen stage at The Best of the South and was named to our top-perfomer team after his play in Atlanta.

 

Most Under-Recruited Player in South Carolina?

 

 

Case Roach of Travelers Rest (SC) High School is my choice here. Playing with Upward Stars Upstate, the 6-foot-6 wing has the size and toughness along with the shooting and rebounding ability to play in the SoCon or Big South conferences. He has bulked up to around 200 pounds and is able to take more contact now. He is a strong defender with long arms and can get his hands in passing lanes.

 

 

Beloti Picking Up Division Two and Low-Major Interest

 

2020 point guard Jayden Beloti of Apex (NC) Friendship High School has been getting interest lately from Barton College, UNC-Pembroke, University of Maryland-Eastern Shore and UMass-Lowell.

 

Barton College is in the process of building a new gym and are waiting until it is completed to have Beloti down for an official visit. UNC-Pembroke and Beloti are setting up a date to visit in the near future.

 

Beloti teams up with NC State commit Nick Farrar on an Apex Friendship High School team that should be in the talks of cutting down the nets in March. Beloti went in depth with HoopSeen about playing with Farrar. “Playing with Nick definitely can make the game easier and he’s a big part of our team and he’s a great teammate. It does make it tough from a recruiting standpoint because all eyes are on him at times but I just do my best and play my game.”
