Q&A with our 30th ranked prospect in Georgia's 2020 class: Andrew Thomas

Now that the early signing period is over, the programs that finished their 2019 class have started to roll over the calender. Even the programs looking for immediate help have compiled a list of targets in next years class to pursue. With our recently released 2020 rankings, now is as good a time as any to gain insight into the state's top prospects recruitment. HoopSeen spoke with Campbell forward Andrew Thomas to gain some insight into his recruitment.

Q: What programs have offered you or shown high interest?

Thomas: North Florida has offered me. High interest, Wofford, MTSU, Lipscomb, Georgia Southern, thats about it.

Q: Have you been able to take any visits so far, and if so, what did you take away from the experience?

Thomas: I've been to Wofford Clemson and UNF. What I've taken away from them is that every college has great academics but every culture is different and that my final college decision will be based off if I can fit in with it.

Q: Sticking with the programs that have expressed interest in you, what are some of the things they have told you they like about your game.

Thomas: My shooting ability. My unselfishness and my ability to rebound.

What has been said: I had this to say during our Georgia Fall Preview camp about the emerging forward

"His floor stretching ability is obvious as this 6’6 big man from Campbell showed off a smooth stroke. Thomas even did what few big’s would and thats dive on the floor for a loose ball during a possession that didn’t have a major influence on the game. When crowded in the post he made on point passes to spotters and cutters, showing a good feel for the game. With the size and upside that Thomas possess, he will be a good fit for Division 1 programs that are looking for a skilled high post threat." - Tai Young

Q: When do you expect to commit to a program and what factors are playing a role in your decision?

Thomas: I expect to commit sometime my senior year. I just want to have a vibe with whatever school offers me. Be able to fit in as soon as I get there.

Q: Is there any program that you would really like to reach out to you and why?

Thomas: University of Massachusetts With my major I want to be a psychologists. And where it is. Ive always wanted to live in Massachusetts.

Q: Who are some of the people that have mentored you and given you some insight into the process of being recruited

Thomas: My old coach Whitfield, coach Johnson, have been around for me. Just trying to help me get tougher. My mom especially, she played at Clemson. They try to make me a better person overall. Better person, better player.

Q: How do you feel about your team this year? What are your expectations with Campbell and going into this travel season with Game Elite

Thomas: I expect us to win state this year. My travel team, I dont think were going to lose this year.

Q: We have you as the 30th ranked prospect in Georgia's 2020 class right now. What are your thoughts on that ranking?

Thomas: It's a nice rank and I think I've worked for it but I can do alot better and I'm going to wake people up this year.
