Who is Teddy Allen?

Sure, the talk of the town this past week in Las Vegas centered around the remarkable run that the Mass Rivals 17-under squad went on en route to the adidas Summer Championship, the remarkable spurt of scoring domination from Collin Sexton, and as usual, the heat that encapsulated the region as temperatures reached above 120-degrees. However, it was also the play of Teddy Allen, a 6-foot-6 forward with the OSA Crusaders, which gained the most traction as the weekend finished off in Sin City.

All of this talk about how it is impossible to find under the radar talent due to the recent boom that is social media and the platform that the shoe sponsored run events give is well warranted. That isn’t to say that there still are a few that slip through the cracks just as Teddy Allen had done until this point.

Running with the OSU Crusaders at the Fab 48 in Vegas, the 6-foot-6 forward put on quite a show. Not only did he become a fan and media favorite, but also a favorite of the college coaching side. Entering his last week of play on the travel circuit, Allen listed just three offers from the likes of Middle Tennessee State, Nebraska Omaha, and South Dakota State. That changed quickly and rightfully so. Throwing up 30-plus point performances on two loaded programs that is the E1T1 and Indy Hoosiers bunches definitely did the charm as the OSA product displayed a mega-impact on the scoreboard.

While he isn’t an elite athlete and really doesn’t have an easily identifiable position on the floor, Allen is just a straight bucket getter. He can score the ball off of hard drives to the basket off of his right hand, on catch and shoot jumpers from as far out as 23-feet, and on deceptive dunks in the lane. Toughness sure isn’t lacking out of the rising senior and while he does have to buy more in on the defensive end and show that he play make some, the talent and long term potential out of the stock boosting forward isn’t difficult to see.

A native of Mesa, Arizona that moved to Omaha last year, things are just beginning to really heat up for Allen as he reeled in offers from Iowa State, George Mason, DePaul, and Virginia Tech within the past 48 hours. A very unique prospect due to his size and scoring prowess, Allen gave insight on what he brings to the floor. “I am just a competitor,” the west coast native stated. “I don’t like to lose. I am going to score the ball and I am a good teammate.”

We can start calling the OSA Crusaders star Teddy Buckets as the scoring machine is becoming a coveted prospect and as he gave further intel on those that he is speaking with the most often. “Wichita State, South Dakota State, Creighton, and Nebraska I probably talk to the most,” the 6-foot-6 standout stated.

Planning to set things up on the official visit trail in August, Teddy Allen was the star of Las Vegas as the bucket getting forward, that has shades of Georges Niang to him, should see his stock rise from a limited recruitment and into one that will receive priority recruitment from high-majors from all across the land.
