Naji Marshall has continued to cement his case as a high priority recruit this spring after leading his DC Premier squad on the UAA circuit. A tough-nosed and versatile play maker of the basketball will head to Hargrave Military Academy this fall but in the meantime, schools have begun to heat up their attention with the Roosevelt High grad.

Sporting great size and length standing near 6-foot-6, Marshall is best known for his slashing abilities off of the first step to the basket. He gets into the lane with relative ease and has implemented an impressive turnaround jumper off of the jump stop from 12-feet. Throw in the DC Premier’s play making skills below the arc, ambidextrous skills near the basket, and hard-nosed approach on both sides of the basketball, and what you have with the DMV recruit is a member of the 2017 class that brings it each time out.

The number-40 ranked prospect nationally and the second ranked rising senior out of the state of Virginia within the 2017 HoopSeen Rankings, Marshall has plastered solid numbers across the board. While his 3-point jumper remains a bit streaky having made short of a fourth of his outside attempts this spring, the DC Premier product has converted nearly 45-percent of his shots from the field, adding up to over 15 points per contest. A versatile defensive piece that can guard the shooting guard spot on down to the power forward position, the blue-collared 3-man goes to the glass, good for over five boards per game.

Following a visit to Xavier back in May, Virginia Tech was able to get the productive 2017 on its campus. “It was tough. I loved it,” Marshall said.

After getting a look at the ACC program, another is on deck for a fellow member of the conference. “I am going to Pitt on Friday,” the productive small forward stated. “I am also going to South Carolina on Friday, too.”

While a commitment could be in the works in the coming weeks, expect for those in the hunt, including the likes of Xavier, Virginia Tech, Pitt, and USC, to remain in hot pursuit of the versatile and active prospect out of the DMV.
