Bronx, New York native Daniel Nixon has enrolled at Winston-Salem Christian and has seen his recruitment take a big jump over the recent weeks. The 6-foot-7 small forward comes to North Carolina from The Hill School in Pottstown, PA. The class of 2021 prospect has recently pulled in offers from Ole Miss, Wake Forest, Georgetown, Tulane, Stony Brook, Bryant, Penn State, East Carolina, Iona, LaSalle, Old Dominion, Marist, and Temple.

Schools showing interest in Nixon include Maryland. Tennessee, St. John’s, Cincinnati and Iowa. Nixon is ranked as the 4th ranked player in our HoopSeenNC 2021 rankings.

Winston-Salem Christian is now coached by former Moravian Prep head coach Antonio Lowe who also spearheads the Team Loaded NC program. Nixon played last travel season with Team Durant on the Nike EYBL circuit that has subsequently been cancelled for this season due to COVID-19. Lowe on Nixon, “Daniel Nixon is a STUD utility guy that is very versatile and will take the hoop state by storm.”

Smith, one of the top guards in the class of 2021 in North Carolina plays on the always talented Team Charlotte program founded by Charlotte native Jeff McInnis. Smith spent this past high school season playing at Hickory Grove Christian just outside of the Queen City. Smith is a 6-foot-4 point guard that averaged 28.1 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game for the 18-10 Lions. Smith is ranked as the 7th best prospect in our HoopSeenNC rankings.

His most recent offer comes from William & Mary, who offered in early May. His other offers consist of Texas A&M, Elon, Hampton, Charlotte and Appalachian State.

2021 guard Bobby Pettiford out of South Granville High School has committed to Louisville. This is another big pick-up for Chris Mack and staff from the state of North Carolina where the Cardinals have had some good luck.

Pettiford, a 6-foot-1 point guard spent the travel season playing with Team CP3.

Pettiford held offers from Tulsa, Ole Miss, Louisville, Providence, UNC-Wilmington, Elon, Virginia Tech and High Point.
