Millbrook Duo Takes Unofficial to ACC Power

Millbrook High School in Raleigh is home to the states' top-ranked high school basketball team. Two big reasons behind their ranking is juniors Will Felton and Eric van der Heijden. Both took an unofficial visit to North Carolina over the weekend to watch the Tar Heels take on The University of Miami.

Felton, a 6-foot-8 forward has been gaining some regional traction on the recruiting front with an offer from UNC-Wilmington coming last week. The mobile big man has been averaging a double-double of 20.2 points and 11.3 rebounds per game for the 18-1 Wildcats, who's only loss comes at the hands of national powerhouse Montverde Academy (FL) back in December.

Felton's game consists of a soft touch around the rim, god footwork and rebounding. He has a strong skillset when he is fed the ball in the paint and can score over either shoulder. Felton is not going to wow you with athleticism, but he gets the job done by doing the things that others do not. He spent this past travel season with Garner Road Basketball Club on the adidas circuit.

On his trip to North Carolina, Felton had this to say about his visit, "It went pretty well, I got to meet a lot of the coaching staff and some of the players. It was a cool experience, they played well the whole time and Roy and the team's reaction at the end was a great thing to see."

Felton now has offers from UNC-Wilmington, Elon, Appalachian State and High Point.

Teammate Eric van der Heijden took in the game in Chapel Hill as well. The 6-foot-7 small forward really impressed our Justin Young at our North Carolina Preview Camp back in September. The long and lean junior can stretch the floor with his shooting and he is one of the best passing big men in the region. Eric has a strong skillset and can cause mis-match problems with his length and his ability to create from the perimeter.

On his trip to Chapel Hill, van der Heijden stated, "I had a really great time at my unofficial at UNC. The atmosphere in the gym was crazy."

He now holds offers from Boston College, Ole Miss, East Carolina, Stetson, Old Dominion and George Washington.
