2015 Fall Preview Story Starters

We featured a dozen of the top performers on Monday from the 2015 Fall Preview. The camp was loaded with talent, no doubt, but it was also the stage for a host of players to emerge and start their story. These four players were voted as top performers by our coaches and staff, too. However, because we’ve never evaluated or even seen before we decided to identify these players as our “Story Starters” from camp.

Ibrahim Dodo, PF, Creekside (GA), 2018: Wow. It was a bit difficult to keep my mouth shut oftentimes in getting a glimpse at the unknown talent that is Ibrahim Dodo. Known as ‘E’ to most of his family and friends, Dodo could use that exact abbreviation to also define the ‘e’ in the exclamation point that he marked on the playing floor at Suwanee Sports Academy. With great length and unbelievable leaping abilities, the native of Greensboro, North Carolina more than impressed with his finishing skills at the basket, help side shot blocks, and deceptive face-up game as he hit on a few jumpers from outside of the 15-foot mark. While he is getting accustomed in playing away from the basket, the upside is ginormous for Dodo as a college recruit and productive ballplayer in the frontcourt. – CE

Chase Hunter, SG, Westlake (GA), 2019: If there was one big revelation from The Fall Preview camp it was this – the class of 2019 was well-represented. And Hunter was a big part of that takeaway. The 6-foot-1 combo guard has a great frame, great feel and great confidence for a player that has yet to play a game in high school. Hunter fit right in with the pack and found his moments to turn on the production. His coaches at the camp and at Westlake are very high on what he brings to the table. His bloodlines say there is a high ceiling with his game. Westlake is loaded with talent and Hunter is in a good position to grow into a fine high-major player. He gave an excellent impression in a setting like this. Looking forward to seeing his story play out over the next four years. – JY

Isaiah Miller, SG, Eastside (GA), 2017: The buzz transferred down the line as the day moved on. From our coaches to our evaluators, the question of “have you seen No. 10 play yet?” was tossed around quite often. And if you didn’t know who No. 10 was, you knew him as the guy that kept dunking on the competition. Miller was a blur from end to end and a high-flying, rim-bending highlight reel. Miller, according to a good majority of our coaches, was the most athletic player in the building. That’s saying a lot given the field of players we had at The Fall Preview. He was active without the ball and tried to get himself open and position to exploit a lazy defense that allowed him to bully the rim. While the skill work still needs refining, if you are looking for a sleeper to watch this high school season than Miller is your guy. Could he be a Ty Cockfield type of player in waiting? Strong, strong chance. - JY

JoJo Toppin, SG/SF, Meadowcreek (GA), 2018: While he might not be the strongest of guys around, you have to hand it to Toppin; he will get deterred around the basket off of well controlled and impressive layin attempts, yet bigger bodies and added length will hurt his finishing abilities. However, he keeps going to the lid as hard as possible and toss in his quickness, length, quality instincts, and engaging motor and while there is little known of the intriguing sophomore at this time, that can all change as he sees more time on the hardwood. Toppin has ideal size and quickness for his spot on the court and should see a quick-blooming recruitment in the coming years; he was a fine breakout at the Fall Preview this past weekend. - CE

Evaluators: Corey Evans (CE) and Justin Young (JY)
