Spring Riser: Kevon Tucker

It’s always fun to see players have success on the biggest stages. The biggest stage of the spring thus far at HoopSeen has been the Norman Parker Showcase, more specifically the 17U semifinal game between the Georgia Stars and Atlanta Xpress.

In a game loaded with high major and mid major talent, one player put his team on his back and carried them to the victory. That guy was Dacula guard Kevon Tucker of Atlanta Xpress.

The rising senior scored 27 points in the win, attacking the basket in transition and shooting lights out from three with four triples in the second half.

“Honestly, I just want to prove that I’m one of the best players in the state. Many people doubt me, so I’ve been working. I just want to prove that I’m better than kids people put ahead of me,” said Tucker about playing the elite competition.

However, it was not just the semifinal win over the Stars where Tucker excelled. The Dacula guard scored it well all weekend en route to an Atlanta Xpress tournament championship, and was arguably the top performer of the bracket.

Tucker currently holds offers from Georgia State, Tulsa, and UNC Charlotte and is receiving interest from Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Tennessee, and Georgia Tech.
