Previewing the HoopSeen Atlanta Jam
Welcome to the 2015 NCAA Live Evaluation period. Let the games begin at the 2015 HoopSeen Atlanta Jam! What should you be watching as we head into the weekend event? What players are the prime time guys? How will things play out at Suwanee Sports Academy? We preview the storylines.
STORIES START IN APRIL
This weekend is all about discovery. Who will take advantage of the stage? Who will start their story? The opportunities are there. The first live weekend of April has always been the starting point for college basketball careers. College coaches watch and look. Players take their games to the next level and own the moment. That will never change.
But who will it be? That’s the fun question.
We can’t wait to find out. We’ll be watching. The college coaches most certainly will be watching. Let’s play the games and see who writes their story.
ALL EYES ON IZUNDU
Ebuka Izundu originally signed to play at UNC Charlotte but asked to be released from his National Letter of Intent when Alan Major and the school parted ways. New head coach Mark Price agreed to releasing him from the NLI.
What does that mean for the 6-foot-10 center from Charlotte (N.C.) Victory Christian? A wave of coaches will be coming. We’ve already received a number of calls from college coaches from around the country about the big man.
Izundu could be a class of 2015 prospect and colleges are looking high and low for big men. To find an impactful big man this late in the game? That’s like winning the recruiting lottery. Izundu should be a popular guy this weekend with the Charlotte Aces from schools of all levels and good geographical areas.

FIVE-STAR FUTURE
Robert Woodard may not be a name that most recruitniks know…right now. But they will. The 6-foot-5 wing from Columbus (MS) High School is one of the more impressive class of 2018 prospects there is in the South. Woodard was invited to the prestigious USA Basketball Youth Festival and played well at the invite-only camp for the nation’s top prospects.
This is the first live-period event for Woodard of his high school career. What schools will roll out and see him play this early in the period? Very few players this young demand the attention of recruiters but Woodard is different. Who shows up to watch is one of the storylines we are watching closely.
STARTING WITH THE SHOWCASE GAMES
The Atlanta Jam will start with showcase games on Friday, and some early Saturday morning. The goal was to start the event off with a bang. From there, it is all about winning. We believe that tournament style games brings out the true competitive spirit of basketball. Who wants it more? Who will play with purpose? Will talent shine through because of it?
We know it does.
Enjoy the weekend and we strongly encourage you to follow along on Instagram and Twitter.
