Fayette Co. shooter felt the love on visit
Fayette County wing Dante Sterling had an idea where he would go to college prior to his visit to James Madison last weekend. Then he visited the Virginia school and decided why prolong the decision? He knew where he wanted to go and ended his recruitment on Thursday.
Sterling told HoopSeen.com that the Dukes made him feel like part of the family when he took a trip to the Colonial Athletic Association school.
"The players, I just fit in with them. They showed me love. I like the players and they're going to make the player that I'm going to be," Sterling said. "The visit sealed the deal," Sterling said. "It couldn't get much better. I just fit in real nice."
James Madison is getting a tall wing (6-5) with perimeter skills.
"They're going to get a very good basketball player," Fayette County head coach Andre Flynn said. "He has tremendous upside. I'm impressed how much he improved since last year. He can handle, score off the dribble and, of course, shoot the three ball."
"They called me a 2.5, a shooting guard and small forward," Sterling said. "I like to run a lot so I know I can handle it up there pretty good. I can rebound it and go as a point guard if I need to."
Sterling played with the Smryna Stars and Georgia Stars on the travel circuit this year.
