HoopSeen/Be The Beast Always Live Showcase Top Three Overall Performers

The HoopSeen/Be The Beast Always Live Showcase was the best event in the nation over the weekend with college coaches from every level watching it from coast-to-coast online. We've polled our staff on their top overall performers from the weekend. These three players were the consensus picks.

After every event, I’ll ask our entire team of reporters, evaluators and staff who they thought were the best performers they saw over the course of the weekend. Usually the top guys are unanimous. For the HoopSeen/Be The Beast Always Live Showcase, the answer was consistently Scoot Henderson. Not only was he an easy pick for the top overall underclassmen, he was the best overall performer from the weekend. He led the event in scoring at 22 points a game. Scoot’s ability to get the rim is next level strong. We’ve seen guys like Collin Sexton play with this aggressive attack mode style and shine. Scoot has similar skills in that regard. He wants the ball in his hands and he wants to impose his will into the action. There is no brake pad. Furthermore, we’re seeing the continued growth in his ability to elevate those around him in the process. - Justin Young

Probably the player with the most upside at the event this weekend, Okpara changes opponents shot selection just by simple being in the paint. At 6-foot-10 and a much longer wingspan, Okpara makes his opposition sweat their shots. The class of 2022 big man showed elite athleticism and timing with his ability to rebound and block shots. On several occasions his teammates just threw the ball in the vicinity of the rim and Okpara took care of the rest. He holds offers from a long list of suitors including Ole Miss, Georgia, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Florida, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State and San Diego. - Justin Byerly

I watched him twice and both times he was the best player on the floor. And truthfully, it wasn’t much of a debate from my point of view. Holt showed a wide variety of skill over the weekend. We saw him be a scoring machine when he pumped in 27 points against Game Elite 3BB3 on 9-19 shooting from the floor. He also had six assists and three made three-pointers in that game. Then we saw him be a major inside-outside threat against the Georgia Select All-Stars, scoring 18 and grabbing five rebounds. Holt’s continued development as a wing has been impressive to watch. His ball-handling and scoring off the bounce are the things that will help him make the transition to the college game. We have a no-brainer high-major guy with Holt and we could be talking about the best overall player in Georgia’s always-loaded Class A Private classification this season at St. Francis. - Justin Young
