Top Overall Performers from NCISAA State Championships Part I

A plethora of talent was up for our viewing over the weekend at the NCISAA Final Four and State Championship games. From high-major conference prospects to Division III and Junior College prospects, we saw them all. Here is Part I of our Top Performers from this past weekend.

Probably the prospect with the highest ceiling from the weekend, the sophomore point guard showed he is mature beyond his years and why Cannon School should be considered the team to beat for the next two seasons at the private school level in North Carolina. Bradley excels at getting by defenders and finishing with an acrobatic lay-in or dunk. He showed he can take the big shot with the game on the line and has the size, skillset and game to one day play in the NBA. The future for Cannon School is bright and it looks like we may have another McDonald's All-American on our hand coming out of the Charlotte metro area. Bradley is ranked #1 in our 2022 HoopSeenNC rankings.

No player in my eyes improved as much over the course of the travel season to the end of the high school season. We saw Cheick Traore with The Charlotte Aces at two of our HoopSeen events during the travel season. You could see the possibility of what he could be on the defensive side and offensively. This weekend showed us how much work Traore has put in over the past 8 months. The Youngstown State signee was a rebounding monster in the championship game, pulling down 21 rebounds and scoring 19 points in the 20-point win. The 6-foot-8 forward was a defensive powerhouse that blocked shots and boxed out. His game is trending upward right now and quickly. Traore should make a jump into our rankings after the weekend he had against some really high-level competition.

A native of Hoke County, Harris decided to make a change and go the private school route with Northwood Temple in Fayetteville. Things seem to be working out exactly as planned for Harris and his new school. The re-classed 2022 prospect really caught my attention during the semi-final win over Trinity Christian. His quickness with the ball, his ability to break down defenders and his athleticism really shined through against some really good competition. The 6-foot guard made tough shots and at the times when his team needed it. Harris' recruitment is looking like it could get to the mid-major or higher level with his play this weekend.

Some kids just love to play basketball. All the time. After dark. In the rain. Davidson Day's Jackson Threadgill is one of those guys. He is a true gym rat and has been that way for the majority of his career. The Charlotte signee was unstoppable this weekend for Head Coach Ron Johnson and his Davidson Day squad. In the championship game, Threadgill went off for 2points in the first half and finished the game with 30 in a 40+ point win over Wayne Country Day to take the 2-A state title. Threadgill has the size, the length, the shooting and the basketball IQ to make some noise as a freshman at Charlotte next season for Head Coach Ron Sanchez. Threadgill was a top performer at our HoopSeen North Carolina Preview back in September.

Holy Cross is getting one of the toughest guards in the state in Randy Johnson. The Charlotte Latin senior guard nearly took all of Cannon School on himself while scoring 38 points in the 71-69 loss. Johnson scored from all over the floor, he got to the rim, he showed he can knock down the outside shot. He defended, he showed college-level passing ability. What he

We saw Randy over the summer with PSB-McCarthy at our Best of the South where he was named a top performer from North Carolina. We thought he was a good player, but what I saw Saturday afternoon was a performance I will remember for a long time and will go down in my book as one of the best in that type of situation I have seen.
