Elite Preview Top Performers: Part I

The 2019 Elite Preview was loaded with the next wave talent in the state of Georgia and various states in the Southeast. We polled our staff and coaches to determine the top overall performers from the camp. Here is the first wave of our top guys from Sunday's action at Suwanee Sports Academy.

The big man was the best rebounder in the camp and made sure his motor was a catalyst for his team’s 3-0 run at the Elite Preview. He soared high above the rim for boards and was actively engaged in the paint on both ends of the floor. He boxed out well, blocked longer offensive players and was a problem on the defensive end of the floor. On the offensive end of the floor, Campbell hit a face-up three and scored on pick and pop buckets. Meadowcreek consistently has big men who contribute and Campbell should be next in line to be a terrific Mustang in the future. - Justin Young

Jordan Brown

There was a stretch on Sunday afternoon where he was the best shooter in the gym. He scored well off the bounce, he scored well off the catch, he was confident from the dribble to the stop and pop pull-up and he was in a zone that didn’t allow him to miss. Brown is a good ball-handling who could touch the paint and score and finish against defenders. All and all, Brown was one of the very best performers at the Elite Preview. - Justin Young

Bruce Thornton

Defensively, there wasn’t a better player in the camp than the strong-bodied guard. He wanted to guard end to end and wanted to guard the best player on the opposite team. Thornton has no trouble scoring through contact and gets to the rim whenever and however he wants. He passes well and rebounds very well for a guard. There was a level of intimidation to his game and the opposition didn’t seem to excited to play against him. - Justin Young

Kok Yat

There wasn’t a more intriguing player that took the floor on Sunday than recent Norcross move-in Kok Yat. The 6-foot-8 forward has a polished skill-set and was comfortable handling the basketball in the open floor and half-court. His fluid motion, long strides, and speed were difficult for opposing defenses to match up with throughout the day. Yat shot the ball well from the perimeter and distanced himself from his peers with his shooting ability. With his combination of size, versatility, and ball skills, Yat is a prospect high-major programs are going to be all over going forward. He was the most talented prospect in attendance at the Elite Fall Preview camp. - Garrett Tucker
