2019 Alabama Fall Preview: Top Performers Part II

The 2019 Alabama Fall Preview is officially in the books. After a great day of camp with some impressive performances, we polled our staff and coaches on their top performers from the event. Over a dozen people's input was considered. Here is our second top performer list from Sunday at the Supreme Courts in Guntersville.

J'Quan Broxson, 2022 CG, Geneva County: From our 3v3 drills to our full-court games, there weren't many spots that went untouched by J'Quan Broxson. A smooth pace and unrattled demeanor made life difficult for defenders as any resistance was met with a smooth and effective counter. Broxson's pace is something to admire at this stage of his career. When one door closed, he pried another one open in a true scorer's fashion. From start to finish his impact was felt as he was one of the very few three-level scorers at the event. A ton of points will come out of Geneva County for the next few seasons. - Tai Young

Antonio Kite, 2022 CG, Anniston: I knew leading up to our Preview camp that some player would steal my attention. Last year it was Colby Jones and Dallas Howell. This season it was Anniston guard Antonio Kite. For as overused as the phrase may be, the best way to describe Kite's game is that he has some things that you just can't teach. While other players' calling card is out-of-this-world athleticism or an elite level frame and height, what Kite lacks in both he makes up for in pure skill. One quick move, followed by a burst of speed was often enough to get him to the rim. It's a skill to play hard, and it's one he's grasped as a sophomore. With a skill level that's beyond most of his peers, the word "special" seems appropriate. Investing early and often would be an appropriate decision for the southeastern high majors. The best is yet to come from Antonio Kite. - Tai Young

Sam Youngblood, 2020 SG, McAdory: For two years straight, Sam Youngblood has lived up to his billing as one of the state's best shooters. Every shot seems to have a chance the moment it rubs off his fingertips as Youngblood has put a patent on his smooth and efficient release. While some over-handle and over-complicate the game, Youngblood moves the needle in the opposite direction. He has mastered being a senior. The game has slowed down for him as everything is done with purpose. Some improvements in his ball-handling are noticeable. So is his unwavering confidence to shoot the ball. His status as one of the best shooters around remains unchanged. - Tai Young

Dylan Glover, 2021 CG, Dothan: A story started today at our Alabama Fall Preview camp as Dothan guard Dylan Glover showcased his ability as a two-way centerpiece. It's not out of the question for Glover to one day take on the challenge of guarding the other team's top prospect while shouldering a bulk of his team's offensive possessions. Armed with a long wingspan and excellent lateral quickness, Glover routinely beat prospects to spots and turned defense to offense. For spurts at a time, he took control of the scoreboard on both ends of the court. As his confidence as a capable prospect grows, it is not out of the question for Dothan to have a Division I guard. - Tai Young

Tyrese Elliott, 2022 CG, Sparkman: Elliott continued his strong summer play into camp on Sunday. Never one to get sped up or be in a hurry, the sophomore plays with a calm and smooth demeanor. He is confident on the offensive end of the floor, as he made some slick passes and was able to score efficiently from behind the arc. Despite being an underclassmen, Elliott was one of the most skilled and cerebral guards in attendance. It's easy to see why Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, and UAB has already extended early scholarship offers. - Garrett Tucker
