Georgia Cup IV Middle School Championships

13U Black Championship

Foothills Fury pulled out a close win in a tightly contested affair as they beat the Georgia Jazz 57-48 to win the 13U Black Championship. The entire game was back and forth with neither team leading more than 5 points until the end when the Jazz started fouling. Jamarion Adams and Daylin Pritchard powered the Fury as they had 17 points and 16 points respectively. Following them for the Fury was Damian Boykins with 7 points. Leading all scorers was Khyle Cowan as he poured in 20 points for the Jazz while Cole Kelly and Antonio Jewell put up 9 points and 8 points respectively in the loss. - Joe Chapman 

13U Orange Championship

The Cherokee Spurs beat Team Forrest 62-43 to claim the 13U Orange Championship at the Georgia Cup IV. This game was never in doubt as a barrage of 3’s helped the Spurs jump out to a 16-point lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Dylan Wolle poured in 21 points to guide the Spurs in the win. Following Wolle was J.T. Hudson as he put up 12 points and Aidan Moore with 10 points. Jayden Gasque dropped 18 points for Team Forrest in the loss. - Joe Chapman 

14U Black Championship

With three players in double figures, the Georgia Stars knocked off Georgia Xclusive Metro 55-37 to win the 14U Black Championship. In what remained a tight game through two quarters, the Georgia Stars pulled away late in the third behind a big quarter from Corey Johnson. He finished with 12, Ian Schiefflin put up 13, and Max Harris had 15 to balance out the Stars’ offensive attack. Xclusive had trouble scoring late as Madison Durr led the squad with 11 points. Matt Cleveland and Devon Cottle added 7 and 6 points respectively. - Bre Singleton

14U Orange Championship 

 Atlanta Tapout pulled away late to win the 14U Orange Championship game 55-43 over God’s Property. God’s Property needed all 17 of Barrett Carter first half points to maintain a 27-25 lead at halftime. The rest of the team would continue to struggle to come up with points in the second half. Behind Carter. the next leading scorers for God’s Property were Cameron Shelton and Zaybran Brewer with 5 each. Tapout found their stride in the fourth and pulled away, building a double digit lead with four minutes left in the game. Davis Sager put up 18, followed by Nick Speros with 14, and Jusaun Holt with 10. - Bre Singleton
