Inside the Top 10: Unsigned Prospects in North Carolina

North Carolina has had a flurry of commitments over the past few weeks and six of the top-10 in the 2022 class have committed to college programs. We take a look at who is still available and what their recruiting story is looking like.

Ezra Ausur, Liberty Heights Athletic Institute - The native of Georgia, has made a big splash since transferring to the Charlotte-area powerhouse. The 6-foot-8 forward has picked up some steam on the recruiting trail as well. He now lists offers from Texas A&M, Wichita State, Sam Houston State, McNeese State and UMass. Playing the national schedule that Liberty Heights' head coach Michael Wright has in store for his program will only solidify his #4 ranking in the HoopSeenNC rankings.

DJ Nix, Cannon School - We have always been a big fan of Cannon School's DJ Nix and what he brings to the floor. He is a worker. He is a lunch pail type of guy that gets a lot of work down on both ends of the floor. He can shoot it from the perimeter and he can get baskets in the paint with his college ready frame. His recruitment is looking like higher academic schools are involved. He holds offers from UNC-Greensboro, Boston College, Appalachian State, Wichita State, Washington State, College of Charleston, and Houston Baptist. I think College of Charleston would be a great fit for level and the type of player he is. He could also land at a Boston College, lower tier ACC school and be able to provide some meaningful minutes.

Elijah Jamison, Liberty Heights Athletic Institute - The once East Carolina commit has opened things back up and is probably looking to go at a higher level. Jamison has long been one of the premier guard prospects in North Carolina and his ability to score has never been in question. Playing another national schedule season with Liberty Heights makes me think that this one could go into the late signing period and see what shakes off after the transfer portal gets going again in full force in April. His recent offers include Wichita State and Radford.

Po'Boigh King

Po'Boigh King, Word of God Christian Academy - One of the best shooters in North Carolina, King has a college basketball frame. He has been one of the most consistent players in the state for a while now and has some high-major recruitment. With the addition of some other top-players to his Word of God program, King will likely see his recruitment pick up even more. He holds offers from Arizona State and Ole Miss, both of which came back in 2019.
