2024 guard K.J. Tenner continues to draw college interest

2024 Cordova (TN) point guard K.J. Tenner was impressive a few weeks ago during the BCAT Live Event in Memphis. In fact, the 5-foot-10 guard was one of the better guards I saw during the June scholastic periods.

Despite his small stature, the quick-twitch guard has proven he can fill it up and put points on the scoreboard. Whether it’s with his high school team or on the travel circuit, the rising senior is a formidable scorer from all three levels. Not only has he made his case as one of the best players in Memphis, but Tenner is also one of the top prospects in Tennessee. Several college programs were in attendance to see him in Memphis.

“Morehead State, Kennesaw State, Central Michigan, North Alabama, Cal State Bakersfield, and Texas Southern have offered me,” Tenner told HoopSeen.com following the game. “Drake, Georgia State, and UT-Martin are showing interest.”

College programs are intrigued with Tenner’s dynamic ability with the ball in his hands. He can make shots from distance and get on a roll, but he’s also fearless attacking the rim, where he can finish with contact or convert floaters over taller defenders.

There’s still a ways to go in his recruitment, but Tenner knows he wants to see one college campus soon.

“I know I’m going to Kennesaw State soon. Coach [Willie] Watson has been on me really hard, so I definitely want to visit them,” he explained.

Tenner will finish out the travel season with Hoop City Basketball Club on the adidas circuit.
